Pre-startup Check

Well, I got the battery and the FAST ECU installed tonight....

Couple things I found a bit concerning.

1/ fuel pump did not prime, its brand new walboro and no dice. (fuel gauge is also pegged out at full even though the tank is empty :-?

2/ perhaps more concerning, the fast ecu connected to my laptop for a few seconds, i had the dashboard up saw the tps move a few times when i hit the gas pedal, then it just said "ECU DISCONNECTED". everytime after that trying to reconnect, it always says "NO ECU FOUND" or something very similar.

anybody have any thoughts/comments on either of those topics?

thanks,
chad

If the tank is empty, how could it prime?

Sounds like the pump is upside down and the bobber arm is hanging down (making the gauge go up)

well, i know the pump is not in upside down and the bobber is at the bottom of the tank. i just installed the pump two days ago, so i am confident of that. now, i know the pump wouldnt exactly prime up normally, but should it not have at least turned on for a few seconds? i would sure think so.

Check. Set to four seconds.

No dice on fuel pump or gauge. :-?
edit: starting to think this might be a ground problem. wouldnt that cause both not to work?

race or get outta the way
if the wiring is not all connected the gauge will peg at full..

how do i know ... my tank is out and gauge is pegged full! dont know if its the ground or the main plug causing it.

ed<--- dont need no stinkin gas tank to do the 1/4 :D

ADDICTED
I think if the ground is not hooked up the gauge will go to full and the pump will not work so check the wires :-?
