Not trying to play the devil's advocate but why does the part have scuffs on it yet the paint marker looks mint? Seems the scuffs would pass over the writing as well.

Im the previous owner. mike has got the front cover of a whole set. I still have some peices with the same markings(for sale). I have also sold some peices to other board members. I know tyson has a front fender peice. I dont remeber who i got them from. its been a long time. all i remeber is the seller didnt know anything about them and he got them out of a big trailer he baught. came from one of the norther states. sounds shady but i didnt care.

it appears to be a test piece and it would have been used for fit and finish once ok'd (what the writing is saying) they will start using the molds that made this particular piece !

Heres the rest of the writing on it, some of the brownish stuff that looks like scratches are just residue remains from whatever release compound used . It all scrapes of with my nail when I pick at it. There is a piece of old tape you can see still stuck I just havent cleaned it off since buying it since I was puzzled at all the writings . Now I have to build a 2x2x8 display case for it .Anyone have a list of PAS employees they can post .

This is what I envisioned a piece looking like in the end. Appears some of the cladding test pieces faired better than others. Wow, what a history treasure!!

Re: Pre-production Original cladding

The first piece has very distinct signature. Maybe someone who has original production documentation could match up that signature to something they know is authentic. Just a thought. Very cool stuff!

The Signature is Tom Vance

it's a pre-production fitment test piece. It's the real deal

Awsome!

Body work to take care of that rust - $5,000
Full body cladding kit - $3,000
Pre-production fitment test piece - Priceless!

Re: Pre-production Original cladding

That is a cool find! I know that when I broke all my bed cladding off, there was a lot of markings and dates written on the inside of every piece. They're all dated '91 though. It looks to be the same kind of white and yellow markers too. Neat-O!!!
