power steering support

theres the bracket that goes from behind the power steering pump, up and around the head, and bolts in 2 places to the exhaust manifold. it has a big hole in it like its supposed to be an engine lift point...but i dont trust it... Do I need this bracket to support the power steering pump? the pump seems awfully secure without it, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Re: power steering support

if you can retain it your probably better off, if gm could save 25 cents on every car they made , they would.
it make work without it, but over time the pump bracket may crack without it.
