I am a bit concerned about the underlying issues here though. This board isnt about one person making money, it is about sharing information, those who deserve our patronage will benefit from this. If you are selling tranny parts and dont like the information posted by a private member, then spreading disinformation and getting your pal to remove posts is B.S. If you have issues with a GP then air them in the appropriate place.

I have told George that if he needs any help in any of this being information on my server or anything else I am all for it. I am even open to setting up George an FTP account so he can update the page when he feels up to it.

In regards to unknown mod deleting these post's I can say that we all may benifit if the delete option was removed from all moderators. If all the post that people would normally deleted were just moved to a hidden fourm that the admins could review I think we all would save ourselves a headache. That way Keith/Ian would be the only people who could physically delete the posts, the Admins. If they feel the post should be left it could just be moved back.

Ultimately this version of the phpBB is old and outdated and would benifit from a updated more secure version of phpBB.

I agree. And if you don't like the info then how about helping us out with good solid technical info with no fluff. I like how Mike Lee does things. He helps out with advise on occasion but doesn't spend most of the post saying how his parts are the bestest and everyone else is stupid. Blake may not have the most bestest information but he is willing to share with us DIY'ers parts numbers, sources, and stuff for free. I am sorry I am poor. Hell, check what Huryde and him put together for a tranny tech section. If his shit is so bad that someone needs to delete it before I read it then you my friend should step up and share your knowledge. If it is bad data then challenge it publicly and back up with alternate data.
That is what makes this place one of the best turbo-tech-junkie type place that I have ever had the pleasure taking part in.

Very well put the board is for sharing information....we should look at the people who are responsible and the shops they are affiliated with and get a clue, are these people that "we" should be doing business with? Lets keep in mind that this is not the first time this has happened, how many more times is it going to happen? The mods should not only figure out who they are but they should be banned from posting. The last time this happened I was an inch away from making a donation to the board that would have paid to keep us online for another year, but after the posts started revealing too much truth and were deleted I decided no way I'm supporting a board that allows this to occur mistake or not. Its unfortunate that a few bad peeps can ruin a good thing if you let them, so lets not let them ruin it for the rest of us....

In addition to jessie's posts I wouldn't also put it past youto consider that someone who once had access to username passwords could have blake's pass... Why would you need mod status if you could delete the user's posts with his own name and through a proxy?... just a thought for you to change your pass just incase this is the situation

first off you didnt even give a substantial reason as to why the torque drive gp is bad. you get on the topic and start calling it "garbage" and you say that its a waste of money.
the gp forum is for selling products, not to diss someone/something. so unless the seller is selling actual garbage and you have actual proof , leave the topic alone.

first off yes thats right. but I can't sit here and watch ppl buy something that isnt worth it. I was simply informing ppl about the product. you want it then go right ahead and buy one.

but for those who wish to have a true and honest discussion forum, then listen to those who have the information and have built the fastest trucks out there. those ppl know what you need...not somebody who has built 1-2 trannies for some stock trucks and some of those have blown up.

yeah i read the topic before it got deleted. what are the part numbers for these gm parts that you are referring to? does gm sell the modified sunshell that replaces the plastic thrust washer with a bearing? does gm offer a better input drum? if so, then give us parts info, not just a remark that gm sells the stuff.

yes GM does sell a replacement for the sun shell that is better than the torque master thingy.

and no they don't sell a input drum BUT as I stated you don't need it and the fact that they use alum pistons is one huge reason not to buy it. this is THE biggest failure rate of any part I've seen in a perf tranny. if you change the pistons you'll throw off the balance that they claim is so important. but WHO here spins their motor to 9500rpm's? NOBODY!!


I don't have the part numbers handy but go to the dealer and buy them yourself. or go online and find them. ask for anything from 2003 with a 4L65E.

Look just because you read one web page and it looks all cool and flashy don't go out and throw away money you don't need to. thats like watching CNN and thinking everything on there is the truth. it's kind of one sided.

I might do a few more GPs on other parts and not make anything. Would it make you feel better if I asked your permission first? you know what george it's not that I don't like you. you have nothing to do with it. BW or myclone or anybody could organize that GP, IT's the concept of ppl selling things on this and other bb's that when they come into question they are quashed. I've already sent you a number of pm's .

and yes it's just a tranny. but when ppl care about something they stick up for it. plain and simple. but when a mod begins to cut ppl opinions out of the picuture so that only one side is seens thats a bit wrong. no matter who is selling what. you, me, anybody!!!
