hrmm may have to start a post asking why my SyTy buddies dont like shaved handles? thats another post though.

i was originally thinking of doing black with blue ghost flames that have red ghost tips, but i would shoot someone on the 1st rock chip or door ding. (not that i wont anyway...) and since its currently my daily (still no syclone) i dont want to do anything TOO nice. ive thought up some pretty sweet paint jobs, but it kinda boils down to these 3. red, black, and a blue/silver as a second. im kinda of noticing that very few pics of tys i have actually look mean. but every time i got in mine when it wasnt farked up, i thought to my self "thats a mushroom cloud layin mothafocka!"

basically i am highly doubting that pics do your truck justice, and im sure it looks pleanty pissed off in person. that being said im now considering doing a light blue/silver combo. but a lighter more sky blue. maybe with blue or silver pearl in it. and just a nice bright silver for the cladding. i figgure i might as well paint it something i wont get sick of, and i would probably get sick of red if it wasnt kandy. and kandy aint cheap.

its hard to decide. looks like the majority votes to keep it black, but i have to agree with morgan. the black is just boring me. i think i need to do something diffrent than black. after all ill have a black syclone eventually right?

so i posted this seeking clarity and you guys confused me even more :bad-word:

keep it black, mine looks plenty mean, and at night ,no one can see it!

but.. if your going to go with a blue, i like the clearwater blue/graphite silver as a different color combo. these are BMW colors. this would look sweet on some powder coated graphite color(like m5 wheel color) C6 wheels. :D

IMO

instead of shaving the handles, maybe put in flush door handles like on the newer S-10s?

as for the paint... id say stay with the black dude, unless you can do the firewall door jambs etc, and do a really clean job... i always thought it was silly to see a red or even yellow car, and under the hood/door jabs are a different color. as far as ghost flames... dont do it! :D

If we're talking BMW colours, Laguna Seca Blue is where it's at.

i agree. i know the blue your talking about and its awesome. that would look pretty sweet with silver cladding...

i have no problems with doing door jambs and possibly even under the hood. depends on if i am going to remove the engine. unless of course i find a red blazer and plan on painting my blue  then i have to do the engine compartment. no big deal to me though. we did it with my corvette, and i wouldnt do a color change without doing the jambs. looks cheap. id even go as far as to get the "built with pride" sticker from GM for the jamb :D

maybe ill start doing some photoshops and see what floats my goat.

or the infamous esterol blue from the e36 m3, laguna is on the e46 m3.

either which way you go, you sound like you're going to put alot of pride into this! :D

Yea im almost set on a blue/blue or blue/silver now. mainly because it would be classy, but still differnt. and i realize that its not the paint that makes a syty look mean. they all look mean in person, its just hard to capture that in a picture.

im kinda thinking a BMW or Corvette blue with an audi or bmw silver and throw a little blue pearl over the cladding. just enough to notice.

on a diffrent note, im going to be looking into making my own emblems. or at least the plan is to come up with a good looking "Typhoon" emblem, have it CNC machined, and then get it chromed. ive never liked the idea of decals instead of emblems, so the side cladding ones will be deleted, and then ill have the new emblem on the back and also have the "GMCTRUCK" Logo emblemized. basically go through the same CNC / chroming process, but leave it the font/style it is. ive got about a billion fonts to look through and i still havent found one that i really like for the Typhoon part. i think im gonna have it say 4.3L Turbo AWD under the rear emblem so i dont have to explain what ive done to my blazer at the track anymore.

if there is interest ill probably end up selling them. probably wont be cheap, but i plan on making them look badass :)
