PLX reads different than DM

Anybody have this issue? I have my PLX WBO2 wired to the ECM following the write-ups I've found on here and code59.org. Nolan setup up my .bin with the PLX patch but my digital gauge reads different than what's on datamaster. Makes it tough to tune that way.

When I'm steady throttle driving the AFRs read a steady 14.5 on the PLX but read 13.5 on DM. When I get into some boost my AFRs are 12.5 on the plx but 10.0 on DM. There is no consistent ratio for me to work with. At cold idle my PLX reads 11.5-12 but DM sits at 10.0. What gives?

A friend has a similar issue but his is boost related. Is your DM set up for the correct AFR gauge?

Have you compared with Tuner Pro? There is an option in the xdf. /bin I think...

My Innovate needed to be calibrated. And I had options to change the voltage outputs to match different guages.

Marc I have never tried to log with tunerpro but that's worth a shot. I'm only starting to get familiar with TP as I'm going to start doing my own tuning. My .bin has the correct plx patch as far as I know (Nolan set it up) but are you guys saying I have to make changes to DM or TP settings in order for it to match?

Re: PLX reads different than DM

There is no calibration for a PLX.
The first thing to check is the PLX unit itself. You can do that by unplugging the O2 sensor, then power up the PLX. The analog output wire should have about 2.3 volts.
If you have about 2.3 volts, then check to see if DM shows an A/F of 14.7. If not, then there may be ground problem, or the chip was accidentally made for a different wideband.

Awesome I'll try that. Thanks for that info Eric!

i had the same problem, and i believe Osmosis posted about this awhile ago.

My PLX read 0.5AFR richer then my datalogger showed.

I ended up grounding my PLX box in multiple places, including on the ECM ground pinout wire. Now its fine.

I can't tell you about DM. But on TP. In the flags/switches section on the left side of the window. Scroll down and you will see linear afr= (volts*2)+ 10 = plx wb. Double click it and check set. You will see other wbs listed in the flags/switches section also. Open each of them and make sure none of these other wbs are set. Once you finish this click file, then click save bin.

I'm still trying to famaliarize myself with TP. I can't find the correct .xdf I had to open and edit my .bins. Haven't figured out how to save them and get them to work from the TP website either. I always did all my logging with DM and let Nolan do the .bin work. I just burned the chips and drove. I'm just now starting to get into learning .bin editing etc and I feel like an amateur lol

For me setting up the programs on the computer was the hardest part of this tuning stuff.
