Im thinking I could just fill the passage in the lower intake with JB weld to block it off and seal the lower from and exhaust gases entering it anybody done this? Ive seen the pipe plug threaded into the tube but I want to block it off on the cyl head side

just have it real welded. I wouldn't trust jb weld....and sure wouldn't want it breaking off and going through the motor.

if you don't have anyone to do it locally, send it to me and i can have it welded shut and remachined flat. The shop that i have do the vortec conversions weld this passage shut during the conversion anyway..so they are adept to doing it.

the pipe plug goes in the top of the intake I want to welt the slot at the bottom closed so no exhaust gasses enter the lower intake at all

I did the pipe plug on mine. The little extra heat you'd get from that will be minor, since there's no longer any flow in the passage.

Moroso racer putty would be better than JB.
