Plastic replacement fuel tank

Has anyone replaced their stock steel fuel tank with a plastic replacement fuel tank. I will probably be replacing the one in my Syclone as I go through the truck cleaning/restoring/upgrading it from the ground up. The one in my truck is covered in surface rust and I think it would be better to replace it then try to restore it. I was looking at using a plastic replacement fuel tank and would like to hear the pros/cons from you about this compared to a steel fuel tank. I found one made by MTS, but no others at this point. I know they are more expensive, but will never rust, and are supposed to be lighter weight than a steel tank.
Any info you can share would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have one in an S10 that's probably 15 years old. The hold down for the sending unit is a little weird, there are screws that hold it down. Also there are no baffles in the tank so the fuel gauge tends to bounce some. Other than that it's been fine, no rust[emoji3]

Re: Plastic replacement fuel tank

I just pulled my replacement take that I swapped about 10 years ago to upgrade the pump again, it had no rust and still in great shape, I never knew there was a plastic option though.
