Great Turbo choice! I run the same BOV and Wastegate. I plan on upgrading my PTE-63 this winter to a 6766.

Where did you buy the Turbo from BTW?

Keep up the great work!

Thanks alot Sean. I got the turbo from pfabrications on ebay. They are just a middle man the turbos ship direct from Precision. Now I am just waiting for my DP, a2a and some other stuff to come in.

I hope to see yourTy in 10's with that turbo on there.Your truck should more of a beast:tup:

What are you cam specs with your custom grind? if you don't me asking and do like it? The truck sounds amazing. I have been trying to decide if It would be worth it to upgade from my comp 412.

Cam specs are secret, but I will say it's more Aggressive than a 422 Comp cam. It was way worth the extra $ for a Custom cam. All depends how far you want to take your truck. I wanted extra room to grow in the future and I'm almost in the 10s on a stock bottom end in a heavy Ty.

I was actually looking at that dealer on ebay for the 6766. How long did it take after you bought it till you recieved it?

Anymore questions LMK!

Re: pics of my sy #2695

It took 3 weeks to get it, the turbo shipped out 2 weeks after ordering it, then about week to ship into Canada.

My last questions for the night is about the valve train, what valve springs are you using along type and ratio of the rockers and lifters? and did you have to change push rod length?

All the Parts I used for my Head swap are in my Build thread. All depends on Pushrod length as to how far the heads are decked or block. I used stock length pushrods on my setup, I made sure they were correct length before installing everything.

Re: pics of my sy #2695

I got started on the modifications for the winter in the middle of the tear down now and slowly been aquiring all the parts. Just about have everything I need. Will post more pictures soon.

As she sits now crappy quality pic

Before I tore it down I noticed a little puddle of coolant under the truck. Checked and found that there is a small leak from the weap hole in the water pump dammit I want to reuse the water pump it already has a high flow Stewart aluminum pump on it, so I'm this far into it whats another $300. Ordered a new Edelbrock #88814. Gotta love the syty law (if it has a potential to leak it will).

Re: pics of my sy #2695

A little update, so I removed the camshaft and found that my #3 cam bearing is bad. Looks as if it was hit by something. Now I just about have the motor out, so the bearings can be replaced I just need to go get the engine crane from a buddy, so I can lift out the engine. The camshaft does not look to be that bad due do the bearing damage thought it would have been worse. Notice a little bit of metal in the oil pan when I removed it. If its not one thing its something else on these trucks LOL.

how long was it running? It looks like shavings hammered that bearing.

Love the paint BTW.

When I bought the truck was told only 5000km on the motor and trans and I have maybe put on another 800km if that. Thats why I think maybe he cam may have knicked the bearing.

Re: pics of my sy #2695

For the update. Made a appointment at Moretto Motorsportz to have the engine gone through, so I'll be dropping off Wednesday. Pulled the engine out tonight and went very smooth. I also took the front diff out as well. I also picked up a 4l80e for $200 out of 2004 2500hd

Re: pics of my sy #2695

Dropped off the engine at Moretto Motorsportz and a bunch of parts at Impact Coatings for ceramic coating and powder coating. While the engines at the machine shop I'm also having them open up the upper plenum to 58mm to match the throttle body and having them weld the bov mount to the intercooler piping.

Finished polishing the compressor housing and used some VHT flameproof flat black paint on the turbo cartridge

Re: pics of my sy #2695

Heard back from the engine shop and it was not good news. First they found that all of the exhaust valves were bent and 3 of those were really bad then the main bearings are worn out as well, crank needs to be polished, so to say the least going basically for a entire rebuild of the engine:tdown:

The engine did not make any noise or was misfiring. Not sure WTF happened to it. My guess was that maybe when it over boosted may have floated the valves wasn't paying attention to the rpm and caused some damage.

Then what topped off that day picked up my freshly powder coated parts. They were a little dusty from sitting in their shop, so I brought home the parts and wiped of the dust and found that they did not clean their guns properly and there was a blue spatter in the gloss black over every part. I took all the parts back and they are taking care of it, but not sure how that could have been over looked it was very noticeable.
