That acronym is spot on. I agree; the boats that friends own are the BEST!!!!!!

Here's a shot from the other end (tomorrow's the big day):

Interesting that it has both the place diverter and trim tabs as well. Add the ride plate on top of that and it should plane out at idle. Does it have any kinda of bulkhead in front of the engine? With rear facing seats- someone could get sucked into that big block!

Sweet ride. I should come down and see what my Sea Doo will do against it from the hole. :) I'm down with watersports- I have a '10 RXT-X and just bought the gf a new '09 (leftover) 215hp RXP. Next step is a boat.

Please take video .

Do you have the ability to divert the exhaust underwater through the Jet drive?

That exhaust needs to go,she needs some straight dry headers right out the back>>>

Love these boats or any jet boat. I kill them out of the hole so badly (with my Sea Doo) that I stop and wait, then take off again. They top end like crazy but are poor out of the hole (unless they are blown and running alcohol). It is just the way they are. Nail it, watch it reach for the sky and wait for it to plane out. Just make sure you have clear water ahead cause you won't see it for a short time (being serious-be careful until you get used to it). The trim tabs will help. Obviously somebody tried to help this common behavior.

Jeff, your Doo should kick butt out of the hole. Like a Sy/Ty on the street. Prob won't out mph this one though depending on how it was built and how it runs. I see quite a few big block jets top out in the 58-60 mph range simply cause things are not right. Takes a good combination and all things proper to run big mph on the water. My pond boat (97 GSX LTD) has been modded as much as a 2 stroke can be. It's 183.3 hp on the dyno and the boat is 8 feet and 375 lbs. 0-60 in 2.3 when my weight is 150 lbs, low fuel and riding on the handle bars to keep it in the water on the hole shot. Tops out at 72 on a cops radar gun. Again, has to be perfect to get the big mph. Slight ripple, proper trim, tucked behind the bars, cool dry air and 1080 EGT's. There is alot to it.

Good luck T-Bone. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Roman: I think we should go into town tomorrow and pick up a ski boat. Whaddya say? Sound good, guys? Uncle Roman'll blow some coin on a kick-ass drag boat!
Chet: That's OK, we're renting a pontoon boat.
Roman: Pontoon boat? What the hell are you gonna do with a pontoon boat? Retake Omaha Beach?

Now I have to go and watch: The Great Outdoors

Twill be a fun experiance (I hope). Never have owned a jet boat before. My last was a Checkmate with an Mercury outboard and it would dance toward the sky until it got 15-20 MPH to reach plane.

The gentleman selling this boat races one that has an enclosed canopy and owns another racing team as well. I know little about these style vessels but he said it will do everything I could imagine a performance boat will do however it is not too friendly on real choppy water. With 242 hours, this one should have some life left. We almost locked in on a MasterCraft Prostar 205 but this one grabbed my attention (and goes a wee bit faster).

I used to race bikes in the 600 class and I know all too well the capabilities of a 2 stroke. I had a Aprilia RS250 in 2000-2002 that would outrun 1000 cc bikes in the mountains. 180 HP powering a 400 pound load is a whole lot more lethal than 485 HP powering 1500 pounds.....for a little while anyway . Sounds like you and Jeff have some awesome machines. Just out of curiosity, can a jetski pull a tube or a skier? With all that power, it seems possible.

Most of the newer skis can easily pull a tube. If you start slinging a full size adult around though- it will pull the back of the ski around. Pulling a skier is a little more work because of the power needed to actually pull them up out of the water. It can be done, but it takes a little more effort. Wakeboarding behind a PWC is pretty acceptable though.

LOL, love that movie, "Suck my Wake" was the best name for a boat.

Where will T-Bone mount the trolling motor? :)

HaHa....no way, Jose'. I am the most impatient person around and I hate fishing because you have to patiently wait for a fish to bite the bait. I do however like the Triton boats with the 250 merc outboards attached to them, but I had no intentions of shelling out $40,000+ for a fishing boat on steroids when I don't ever fish.

I am gonna register the jetboat tomorrow morning and hope to get it in the water tomorrow afternoon. Don said this boat comes on plane almost instantly......we shall soon see ;).

Glad to hear you have had experience on the water. Stay safe.

The newer ski's pull a tube easily (as mentioned) and can get a skier up. Need a good driver and perferably adjustable trim. They need to be the 3 rider type as as I am sure you know, you need a driver, a spotter and an empty space to pick up the skier.

Yes, I figured as much. I was just curious if they had the propulsion to get a skier up. Some of the ski's produced are snotty lil' machines and very impressive for what they are.

When I was much thinner I barefooted behind a Waverunner. Now it takes a bit more speed to keep me on plane. :)

Nice boat. I got a ride on a similar vessel on the Cedar River some years ago, and I have to say I was scared ****less.

I like fast on dry land, but the water speed freaks me out. Might have to do with the fact that I swim like a car battery...

Re: Picking up a new toy Thursday :)

So how did the tubing work out, T-Bone?

TN requires a "notarized" bill of sale for out of state vessel purchases so the casual bill of sale I got was a no-go. The notarized one is in the mail as I type and should be in my hands come Tuesday. Then I can register it and the trailer in my name. It has not done a thing but sit in my garage and get a good waxing and fresh oil. Itching to get it on the water Tuesday or Thursday. Will let you know about the tubing adventure.

Hoping to pick up a G-Pro waterproof camera for some on water footage and also to use it for some recorded video of some of my toys on the twisties around here.

Re: Picking up a new toy Thursday :)

WHAT A MACHINE. I am amazed water propulsion can launch 1800 pounds this quickly. Within 1-1.5 seconds, I was on plane at 50% throttle. A guy on the boardwalk said "Nice boat dude, is it fast". I said I dunno; just bought it. He asked me to nail it when I took off so I obliged, turned the steering wheel to the right to pull out and literally soaked him when I shot away (haha).

What I didn't appreciate was using 2.5 gallons of fuel in 20 minutes BUT you play, you pay ;).

Very nice toy T-Bone! I'm far more envious now! Thing must haul ass with that 454, I can only imagine. I remember a couple years ago I was driving around my neighborhood and I notice a blue Silverado SS hauling a sleek black boat. I get closer to the boat and notice a red stripe wrapped along the side leading to a "454 SS" emblem in the rear. Then I notice the 454 inside I was like woahhh! :shocked!:
