Why not? He's 16 and that's what he's into. If they were around back when I was his age, id be on them too. Hell, here I am 30 years old and yes, I do skim over the skate and surf forums just to see whats up...and yes, I do skate and heavily surf. One of my web clients is a surfshop Im affiliated for my business. Im in the industry, but both skate and surf have new technology and developments coming out all the time, so what better place to get feedback on what works and what sucks. Its just like we do here with the truck crap.....

He could be on the streets selling drugs or getting into other trouble as the alternative. :2cents:

Plenty of skaters on here too.... Daron, myself...Ive heard Raist was sponsored at one time....

I was into skateboarding when you had to build your own. My sister got mad at me more than once for taking her skates apart and bolting them to 1 X 4's. Oh boy, those were the days. .19 gas, .10 movies, .05 sodas....hahaha.

Mel, you need to get back into it then... old skool is the new thing. You can get everything now that was hot in the 70s/80s. Same designs and shapes, trucks, wheels, everything.

Are you nuts?????? My bones get achy if it gets cloudy outside. I only WANT to imagine what would happen if I fell on concrete or pavement.

I just noticed the years you listed. You are about 20 years late. I was talking about the 50's/60's.

I was into them back in the old days like Brassmonkey when the skates were the style that you put on your shoes, like Brassmonkey I would take them apart. Then the big time hit, fiberglass boards came out that were longer at 20" for $30.00, if you wanted the 24" board it was $45.00. So I got rid of the plywood after saving my money and went for the 20" board. It took another 2 years to finish the board with big and little wheels. I made it with 13/4" dia wheel in front 2" wide and I use what were call Stoker wheel in the back that were 2 3/4" dia X 3 1/4" wide. It too bad that my sister and I had a falling out because that board is hanging up in her garage. Here is a picture of the wheels

OH well, it was a good time I got a warning by a cop for going down a hill about 5 miles from home that ended in a T intersection. I had tighten the trucks up to keep from getting the wobbles and my friend said you are crazy to tighten the trucks as you won't be able to turn. We race down this hill and he crash bad (all skinned up on his arms and legs because everyone knew to be cool you had to be in cut off jeans and a surfing t-shirt.) The cop said he went down at 30 mph and clock me at 45mph. But to this day when I think about it, all I see is Jim all torn up with road rash.

haha nah, i wear regular clothes, ive been filmin skatboaring and skating for several years, but when i get my liscence in 2 months i will have more on my mind ahah.

You cant bash on anyone for not knowing about our trucks, why? Because no one knows about them. And dont make stuff up or, skew the truth about them (not in a rant like that anyway). Just makes it look like you dont really own it or you have no clue what you are talking about.

Not now, but if you own that truck long enough you will notice that its easier to let people believe what they want to believe. (AND so much more FUN) Just go along with what they say, just had another thread about his very same thing.

Ex. Guy at a gas station had a 1500reg chevy with a 350 in it, guy was going on how he had a new intake exhaust bunch of other little stuff. Looked out at my truck, asked "whats it got in it"... Just a 4.3 v6... He responds with "damn i thought it would have been a good race"

Thats when i gave him the crazy eye, and walked out. Let the dumb be dumb. Shit i had an open DP and there is no way he didnt hear me pull up.

well around here (CO), most skaters also board. and shawn palmer had a pretty bad ass truck at one time. not that this really has anything to do with the price of tea in china, but i guess i remember getting ripped on here when i was 16 for my spelling and grammar, so i decided to chime in.
