just had new motor installed heads, cam, turbo, headers, intercooler, downpipe, etc. ive had the truck setting in my garage for about 3 weeks after getting it back while i relocated the battery and put on an airfilter i drove it yesterday for the first time and it has what looks like blow-by coming from the valve cover filter and now has oil leaks only has 50 miles since i got it back anybody have any ideas

Re: pcv problem "I HOPE"

Do a comp test or leakdown to verify blowby. Are the valves plugged in the right way? Hope it's not serious.

Re: pcv problem "I HOPE"

the key word in your reply was valves it only has one i thought it had 2 when it was stock and i guess i was correct but now its just one i guess that could be the problem im going to go investigate

Re: pcv problem "I HOPE"

PCVs don't *cause* blow-by generally, unless you have something hooked up really weird.

Could be oil or something burning off the manifolds?

Also important to remember - piston rings don't generally seal up instantly. Might take a bit of drive time

Take the oil fill cap off while running... if you have lots of lots of smoke/air coming out, I would give it a compression check. If it's just a minor amount of air, give it some time before condemning it.

One question I will bring up that nobody likes to hear- Did you fix the condition that caused the previous motor to go? A rebuild without fixing the underlying cause is a recipe for a second dead motor.
