what was the best compliment you ever got that was followed by a questionable comment?

Today as I was parked outside the bank these guys pulled next to me ans I guess they heard about sytys and said to me...
"clean typhoon" I said thanks..
guy #1 "these run the 1/4 in 11 flat huu..."
I said no, a good running one stock should be around mid 13s
Guy #2 said "yup that v8 5.7 supercharged is a monster.
I said almost but no:) v6 turbo.
And finally guy #3 said "it must be the grand national engine duuhh"

We need a damn world wide documentry about sytys, people need to know.

Happens fairly often at the track. I just tell 'em up front. "No, it's not a GN motor. It was a quick as a Corvette that year, that's a turbocharger not a supercharger, this one is modified a bit. A good stocker can run mid 13s, this one runs 12.7, and yes it's fun to drive."

I'm slowly training everyone...:rotf:

Same thing happened to me an 06 single cab revs it up at me while passing him so we get to the light and I tell him come on let's go since he was going to turn left then he just laughs and says nice truck its a v8 right I said no its a v6 but let me know if you want to race and he told me I will race you from a dig because I got 4.30 gears I just smiled let's go and he said we will next time dam I wanted to race him hate when they rev it up and don't do nothing

i had someone tell me i have the rare gnx, because of my wheels. I have a hardtop gn with gta wheels people are stupid, and that is a fact

Syclone huh? Twin turbo v6 huh? It's surprises me the people who have no clue, then I run into a 20 year old kid that knows everything about syty's. Always makes me smile tho, most people have a clue how fast and fun these trucks are.

I don't really tend to educate people on my sy. Although I had some guy yesterday knocking at my door asking if it was for sale. He knew something about them and mentioned he owned a sonoma gt. The less they know the better.

If i tell them its a 1991 GMC Syclone and they proceed to tell me their buddy has a 94 Syclone , i go along with whatever they say at that point .

That's funny cause I got asked this morning "them Syclones how fast are they being a 4 cylinder turbo?" The best question of all time is "you paid how much for that?"

Guy at welding supply shop one day saw my rat syclone I owned. Started to tell me about his GN and how if you gave it full throttle it would crack the windshield every time. In between this BS story he was asking my syty questions which I answered but not always correctly. I had a straight face as they come, Jeremy was with me and kept the same.

I remember telling him my typhoon at home had the factory v8 option and was much faster.

I still laugh at that day, he doesn't seem to work there anymore for some reason. Probably got fired when he couldn't get to work due to busted windshields.

Another said must be fun doing burnouts in that truck..
And that V8 sounds good...

Had my sitting with a 4 sale sign in it and it has brought some real winners to my door. My top comments in no particular order are: "Does it have a hitch?", "Wow, that has a wicked V-8 huh!?!" and finally (this is my favorite) confused look on their face, "How much???":rotf:
