My truck came back from NATS X in rough shape. I will work hard to get her street worthy before the 13th, other wise I could drive my daily some where!

I need heads, exhaust manifolds and a CCHE. I've got that stupid 422 cam in there, so that's limiting my head choices. If you don't have yours running by the time we get up there, I'm unbolting those L35s from your block and putting them back on the Ty.

I should just put a stock cam back in it, bolt on your stock heads and call it a day.

Btw, has anyone else ever has mouse poo in your oil pans?

Trade ya a .430 crane cam for the 422.

Also have some "Loaner" manifolds you can use until you find some good ones.

Also have a CCHC. It's my pristine 12k stocker though, not sure how bad I want to part with it.

You can just buy that bus heater core and slap it in front of the radiator. It'd work tons
better, anyway.

I'll have to think about that one. I haven't decided what I want to do with the thing yet. It's hard to get excited about it since working on it means a 4 hour round trip.

Did you ever get that white Ty sold?

Personally, I think the Twin Cities is a good spot to meet. Only problem, No race track! Since my ty is on the ropes, I am down for anything!

One month to go, hmmmm I don't know it may be kind of tight. The builders had my motor going on 3 weeks now, for just a crank resurface and new bearings!!! Dan, maybe we'll get yours running and me and you can drive up in yours for the weekend, we'll leave the women at home

Harvey used to have a couple races a year on their airport but some new regulations in the states came in last year saying no more racing on airport runways. They sold off all of their timing gear, guard rails, bleachers, everything.

Something doesn't grok. I saw the FAA thing on the Harvey web site... how do these guys pull it off?

http://www.alteredgas.com/flashlight_drags.html

This would be fun to do locally... no timing, no brackets, delay boxes, slicks.
Just run what ya brung.

Do you have a stock cam to get rid of?

What's the latest story on your Sy? Has it been down as long as my Ty now?

One thing to note, if you're coming up to race...

(From the interstate website)

New HELMET requirements for this year! If you need a helmet (13.99 and quicker), your helmet must now meet one of the following specs:

Snell K98, 2000, 2005, or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1A, 41.2A, or 41.1/2005. (Those of you with superchargers or open body cars, check the NHRA rulebook.) Check the rulebook or email with questions.

******* At the first TINTMASTERS street legal event, we had a few racers show up with helmets that were NOT SNELL or SFI certified. While it was apparent that these were excellent helmets, our insurance company and NHRA have dictated which helmets are acceptable to us. ONLY helmets that have been tested and approved to one of the listed specs and labeled as such are acceptable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Yeah, i have a stocker with minimal wear. It probably has around 50-70 on it or so. If you need it to get your ty running, let me know. And yeah, my sy has been down 2 years this Oct. However, i did drive it around the block last weekend for its' first outing. I'm trying a new bin this weekend that Dig's posted on the 59 forums so we'll see. How far from your place to Mpls?

So if we run in the 14.0's we do not need a helmet? Also the typhoon is slow and being torn apart but I could bring my xtreme if you are willing to have me. haha

I do... a couple of 'em actually. One has 18k miles on it.

Well, thanks for all the stock part offers, guys, but it looks like I'll be sticking with the current plan. I just took a job with a slight bump in pay, so I might actually be able to start affording parts soon.

Sunni and I are actually living full-time in Chaska now, so we're not quite as far from Mpls as we used to be. We might even be done moving for a year or two as well!

Well, it's lookin pretty good, I got the motor back tonight from the builder, with any luck I'll have it back together tomorrow, and in the truck by the end of the weekend.

Dig if I get it up there do you think you'll have some time to help me get it tuned once and for all?

If you guys from the city wanna car pool that would be cool too, just PM me and we can figure it all out!

We'll be able to get a tune in it that you'll be safe on, at least. (ie, won't take out bearings).
More detailed stuff will have to wait until I get a free weekend.

Bring your laptops and equipment if you have it.. the less switching around we have to do, the better.

That's correct. Bring whatever you like. I'm sure we can round up a 100-shot of spray..

How much does this event cost and are people still planning on going?

Re: Oct. 13 - MN/ND/SD/Manitoba folks - SyTy/Buick Meet!

so when I get to Sabin, where do I go? I'll be coming in on 94. I'm about 95% sure I'll be there. Is there camping near by, or hotels? I have to leave Sat night, or early Sun morning so it's gonna be a short stay, but it will be fun....

Seriously, the track is 1 mile off of 94. easy to find. There is usually camping right at the track if they still do that. It was pretty nice. There's a bath house too if you like to be pretty.
