Noticed my Sy has 4 passenger side wheels - WTF!?!

My buddy told me my driver's side stock turbine wheels were facing the wrong way. I figured they must have been mounted wrong but, to my disgust, all 4 wheels on my Sy are passenger side rims. Only the driver's side wheels are facing the wrong way. I guess the original owner was full of shit when he told me the truck had never been wrecked Either that, or the wheels were stolen and then replaced incorrectly? Now I really have a good reason to get those WS6 wheels.

HAHA - all SyTys are wrong. The wheels are non-directional.

Aw geez...I'm a total idiot :lol: Couldn't GMC at least have made the stock wheels directional!?! Cheap bastards.

Yeah - it is one of those same things I hated about the stockers. At least the Vette has all the wheels going the right way. But, an advantage is you can at least rotate tires from side to side since our front to back can't be done.

I noticed this last summer before I found this board. I had forgot to ask everyone what the deal was until you mentioned it. I have 2 sets of good factory rims and all 8 faced the same way. I knew it wasn't my bad luck or mere coincidence.

Im not a big fan of the stock rims myself...this is just more motivation for me to find another SyTy owner and steal their pimp rims. I'll leave the stock rims for the winter salt baths.

You can rotate the tires front to back, just not the rims. You have to have them re-mounted and balanced but Sears covers this in their "free rotations with the purchace of new tires" so I don't see why others wouldn't also.

When I got my Ty,about 2 months after I got it,I took the rims/tires off of it,and found out that some how,they had a front and rear rim on the front of the truck,and a front and rear rim on the back of the truck,so I just put the fronts on the front,and the rears on the rear.They are stamped on the inside what they are,either "front", or "rear",so make sure that is correct.The solution that I came up with was that the previous owner always took it to the dealer for service,and some knuclehead rotated the tires,not knowing the rims had a specific location.
