Re: Not revving past 4200 rpm

Looks like A: You don't read very carefully, and B: Don't understand how electrical circiuts work, so C: It looks like its been that way a long time without burning up. Leave it alone.

Let me edit my post. Sorry Dave. You are correct I missed the statement about the red wires. I was at work and looking at the forums on my phone. I am not electrical but I mechanical so I try to stay away from the wiring at all costs. Thanks for your input.

Dave is a wealth of Knowledge and is trying to help you. We value his input here on .net He has helped many many people. He also had provided our Vault with many articles on these pos trucks. When dealers can't help we all turn here. When it Comes to SYTY's I consider Dave, Hood and a few others the Professors. Just My 2 cents have a nice day.

Thanks for your statement. He does seem to know what he is doing. I can tell you the ins and outs on a duramax engine but these are a new game to me. The Ty does seems to be running better. I know it sat in storage for awhile before I picked it up. I did change the coolant sending unit and the iac. Still have an issue with idle and how rich it runs. I am going to pull the plugs this weekend and check the cap and rotor. I just ordered a aldl cable so now I can see just what is going on. Thanks for all y'all's help

Re: Not revving past 4200 rpm

New plugs, wire, cap, rotor and replaced a few vacuum lines. Seems to have fixed the issues. I also replaced the iac and dropped the fuel pressure. At wot my wideband was showing 10. Now 10.8-11. I believe that is where the rich smell from the exhaust was coming from and also a crack in the vacuum line from the fpr. Now to order a full set of vacuum hoses from sportmachines. I also received my aldl cable today. Tried hooking it up with datamaster but couldn't get it to display anything. Time to go to work....maybe tomorrow I will figure it out
