Re: Noob 1/4 Mile Question

weight is a bigger issue than your counting it for. You also have to take in the consideration of your motor not being in tune, which would lead to drastically changing times than what youd expect. A truck running on 8lbs of boost vs 16lbs of boost feels quick to someone who hasnt ridden in one with 16lbs, but will only put out 15's in the quarter. If its running great you could see the numbers you want, but you shouldnt ask opinions and then bash them. we're all here for the same reason, so when you get it, make sure its running up to par and take it to the track. prove us wrong - i personally think itll put up some decent numbers.
Besides the bottom end noise the thing ran excellent, couldn't tell you how much boost it was running because I didn't pay attnetion but it's definitely quick as hell. Weight is not as big of an issue as you're making it out to be, I've had numerous Blazers and have weighed them all on a scale, my 89 2 door High Country weighed 3960 I believe, my 92 Jimmy weighs 4180 and my 92 Blazer weighed 4200. My dads 94 Bravada weighs....4200 pounds also.
So if you factor in the assumed formula of 200lbs = .1 sec then the weight is a factor of MAYBE .2 of a second slower, definitely nothing to be worried about in a daily driver.
I wasn't bashing your guys opinions, I just know for a fact that it's not a 15 second car and if it's a 14 second car I'd be surprised. I've ridden in and driven a number of fast cars and nothing quite accelrated like this car did. Fastest cars I've driven have been a stock 03 Lightning, 06 300C SRT-8 and a 05 Crossfire SRT-6 and I've only driven them because I used to work at Chrysler dealership. The SRT-8 was definitely the fastest out of the bunch but the powerband was very smooth going, while the Bravada just smashed me into the seat with a great force.
I know the difference between quick and fast. The above cars I described are fairly quick, nothing too punishing but definitely respectable. Fast though, is one of my buddies cars, he has a 661whp 99 Camaro with a T76 Phamspeed turbo kit, AFR heads, cam, Moser 12 bolt, etc etc. That is a very nutty car, never experianced any gear in his car besides 3rd-5th so I couldn't tell you how fast it is down low but I'm 150% sure it is faster.
Enough of my yapping, bottom line is that my seat of the pants 1/4 mile was at least a low 14, it's definitely no slouch. I think the car was running around stock boost from what I'm trying to remember, the conversation I had with the owner was kind of a blur because I had been up 22 hours driving to St. Louis. No matter what it runs I can't wait to get it, ricers have been shit talking it left and right and it's not even in my posession yet.
