Noise coming from Drivetrain?

These past few days I've noticed a noise coming from what appears to be the transmission, transfer case, front differential, etc. I can't seem to pin point the sound or where its coming from. It sounds like a whining noise and it gets louder and deeper as I step on the gas and gain speed. Any idea/s what it might be? Trans oil looks good. TCase oil is good and full, so just curious if anyone has any pointers on what it might be or where/what to check?

Stab it and steer it
In no particular order... Check the fluid in the front and rear differentials. (Neither have drains.) The rear can be drained by removing the cover. You might get some out of the front with vac machine. Never done that. You can also remove the front driveline. This takes all load from the front dif effectively taking it out of the equation. If the noise then goes away then it's likely the front dif. Are all 4 tires matched in size? Have you done anything to the truck recently?

What happens (noise) when you backup with the wheel turned all the way?

Actually when I reverse and turn, I get a sound that pretty much sounds like a baseball card flapping on the spokes of bicycle. ( use to do that as a kid and has a similar sound). So chances are it could be something with the front dif. No drain plug so that suck. I'll have to check it out.

sounds like front diff bro. but when you do that reverse and turn do you feel any binding like you have to give it gas for the truck to actually move? in that case that would sound more like a transfer case.

Sup Friscoty, I'm getting a really strong feeling its in the front diff. Most of the sound seems to be coming from the front area. Will get underneath tomorrow and have a look. As for the trans and Tcase..just installed about 3 months ago. Rebuilt, so I'm keeping them out of the equation.

Since the front driveline has to come out anyway (if you're gonna pull the front dif) why not pull it first and see what happens. At that point you can move the front yoke and see how much play (backlash) or other looseness there is. Are any of the seals leaking? If it's just a small amount that's a good sign. No guarantee but way better than a lot of play.

Update: So yesterday I decided to drive the Ty to try n figure out this noise..it was still there. As I was driving I punched it a bit and I hear something like gears skipping. It was loud enough for me to hear it and feel it on the gas pedal. I then parked it, removed the front prop ( prop bolts were a bit on the loose side) and drove around for a bit. Noise is completely gone and no more skipping of gears. Pretty safe to say my front diff is toast??? Also leaking from the seals witch I forgot to mention. About 2 weeks ago I checked the gear oil and none inside. I filled it an didn't drive it till yesterday.
