I do still have a bunch of work to get it done for this coming season, but I think it's coming along nice. (hasn't been easy, it's getting there slowly though).

Thanks guys, notice my MSD wires, or lack of them? Damn Denny (Sycho) has me hiding wiring now..:squint:

Here's a pic of the downpipe I just found..I'm having it cut and v-band flanges added about half way to make it a two piece downpipe. Right now it has to go in from the bottom and seeing as I don't have a garage with a lift (yet) it needs to be sectioned to fit in from the top..

I went with a 45mm wastegate this time around..I'm really excited about keeping the stock block build another year before switching to a big bad Bowtie..

Looks great Matt... Guess you got your headers.. That's good, Just got your message about them today :shoot:

Make sure you get a non ac heater core (It has shorter pipes coming out of the firewall) as I have heard that the long pipes will vibrate and crack with no more support bracket..

Where is your wastegate going to be installed? I didn't see any piping for it or any place to mount it to your headers or downpipe...

Did Mike make you a turbo support bracket to support that beast??

Last question... I promise... What is the solid line that runs vertically down the middle of your intercooler? Is it made from two cores and that is where they meet?? Or is it an aluminum strip welded on there that helps stiffen the hood brace mounting points??

P.S. your guard dogs that were supposed to be protecting your goodies look like they are sleeping on the job :rotf:

Ok, let me answer these in the order u asked..

Yes non ac heater core will be installed.

Wastegate fab work will be done here local as i'm undecided how I want to mount it and how I want to vent it..

Yes, turbo support bracket came with the headers. Turbo really isn't that big, still a 67mm.

Lol!! You can ask all the questions you want..The aluminum strip on the ic is where the cores were welded together. The hood latch is supported on it's own.

Yeah, my guys were definitely sleeping, but no worries here man, I have more than just two..:tup:

Hahaha!! I can't help you with that buddy..I have my own problems spending all my money on these things..:rant:

Ok guys, made some progress in the past week.

I had to section the 3 1/2" downpipe so it would fit in through the top..



Also weld 3 1/2" v-band flange to the turbine housing cuz it was only a 3" out..

I also got the wastegate welded on the header.



Had to do some porting/smoothing out the inside of the header after wastegate was welded.
It came out really nice I think.

Also got the oil cooler and trans coolers mounted. I wanted to use aluminum for the brackets to save some weight, plus I love to look of aluminum.

Here's a few pics of how the engine bay looks with the downpipe and wastegate piping all done. I'm really happy how things are coming along.

I think I really need to wrap the downpipe and dump tube, but they look so friggin badass I almost hate to cover them..

The wastegate looks very close to the tire in the pics, but it's not even close, it's just the angle of the pic. The gate is way above the tire.

Great work Matt! Hopefully I'll get half that far this year. Curious question, why did you chose 3.5" DP?
