I was watching car and driver last weekend. They called last years model "obsolete." The NEW ZO6 as tested ran a 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. Guess we will find out what the tail lights look like on those cars very soon. =)

Or not.If you expect to be beat,you are beat.I'll be damned if I think anything other than a badder Sy/Ty (or motorcycle) will be me on the street,and I don't have nothing yet.
If your truck is stock,I understand.But stock sux,and you'd be amazed what a giant turbo will do to wake up your truck.
I say F*** Vettes,Mustangs,Ls1's,rice,EVERYTHING,except us.

dude 13 second 1/4. cmon. thats not fast at all. my four cylinder mustang svo is running 13s and its a 2.3 turbo. you are talking bout stompin. maybe street light to street light. but 13s? shieooot. dude i like my truck a lot but there are plenty of ricer boys legit that are running in the 12s where i live. i know it sucks, if you ran against them in the quarter you would get smoked by a cartoon car. later

umm the street sy/ty own, flatout.. the strip anyone can own, depending on how much $ you dump into it.
If you could read,you'd see that I ran that 13.0 with a slipping trans.That will be fixed next week.My truck will be in the 11's this year.
Just because your Ty is a 150K barely running POS doesn't mean all Sy/Ty's run like crap.How about getting your truck right,then forming an opinion?

It takes a darn good driver to hit 0-60 in 4.0 sec. I remember reading the arguement on the Corvette forum on how many Z06 owner thought it was imposible to get 0-60 in sec as many of them were in the 4.3-4.6 range on the G-Tech. Just because it runs a faster 0-60 time doesn't mean it is ahead by 60. The Z06 is going to be coming on strong at 60, the Sy starts off the line strong and starts slowing down at 45mph. I would guess by the time each car hit 60, it would be close to see who was ahead.

" stock sux" AMEN to that brother, and i will be glad to line up with a ZO6 anyday! most people that own those cars would or could not race it anyway, and on the street its a whole different ball game. I have seen high 12 second cars beat mid to high 11s all the time. Its street racing!! I would give the nod to a good running sy stop light to stoplight over the ZO6. Hell, i got my sy to run 12.82 stock, it had a chip and a little more boost and some race gas. jack ostrander

There's more to racing on the street though. Sy/Tys will have them launch but if its anything than say a 1/4 mile and the sy runs relaitvly stock times (13.6-14.0)it will get caught. Also if it is from a roll like many encountered races the sy/ty is in trouble. Last cars are made on the track not the street. Alos anyone can own the street also...just depends how much money you have. I have been noticing more thought that the average sy/ty is maybe a 13.5 to 14.0 flat car. With the cars getting faster and faster with DR. its going to start getting closer and closer on the street.

Im sorry but all street racers are ricers. How often do you see two old muscle cars race at a stop light with slicks ans wheelie bars. But it is cool to see someone with a honda civic with an exaust pipe 7 inches around get smoked by a truck that was made 11 years ago.

Hey guys, why do you think out trucks run out of stem so quick. Many of you state that after 45 mph, it runs out of steam or doesn't pull as hard, or from a roll, we get our clocks cleaned. Sounds like a need for some breathing exercises. Technology has come along way in the last 11 years (look at the changes in the Vette since '91). Apply it to your vehicle and have some fun.
