Hey everyone. I've been browsing around here for a while, but now that I've purchased my first Typhoon, I though it best to join.

Anywho, I just bought a 1993 Typhoon. Stock, with a chip, and K/N filter. black on black with 90,000miles. I was sitting at the lights, when this big black buick (thought it was a monte carlo at first!) came up next to me. Didn't sound like much, very quiet actually. But then he gave me "the nod". I thought WTH, I can destroy this guy! So as the other light turns yellow, I start ramping up the boost, at about 7lbs, the light is green, and I shoot out of the hole like only a Typhoon can. Before I can even look over to see how badly I've whipped this guy, all I hear is this monstrous turbo whine, and this big black buick flys by me like I'm standing still! I couldn't believe it we kept going to about 80MPH, and by then he had me by 4-5 lengths. I quickly tucked my tail, and went home to lick my wounds.

Tell me what I've got to do so next time I meet up next to this guy, I'll show him what losing is really like.

Sounds like you meet up with a Grand National.

Id suggest instead of racing and trying to beat him, make friends. GNs are known for their easy budget builds and producing sick ETs. If hes rolling on you that hard, then theres nothing more than you can do other than start researching a mod combo for yourself.

That sounds right. We had a brief chat afterwards, said he's upgraded the turbo and injectors, methanol injection, and lot's of other things I can't recall right now. Good guy, but would sure like to keep up in the future.

I used to take my buddies up to about 70-75 then he came screaming by me. He just got his tranny done though and a few other things, to finish his build and should be spanking me in no time :tup:

That GN prob flys.. I hit mid 12s with mine with only a cai, catback, chip, et streets, afpr and a 3inch dp.. Check out www.turbobuick.com and read up on them so you know for next time what your up against

it all depends on how fast you want to run and how fast he's running now,

if you can tell us that then im sure the people here can help you

so which is the better motor power wise, the 3.8 V6 turbo or the 4.3L V6 turbo

for one, you can pop a head gasket on the 3.8 and be back driving as quick as you can change it.... try that with the syty 4.3
