Yup, finally bought a Ty the other day. Kinda excited to see what I can do with this thing, I've always loved them. I ordered it a chip, te44 turbo, injectors, and downpipe . i hope it runs good when I get it to the track.

Welcome. Where're you located? You should probably hook up with someone knowledgable in your area to chat with.

First thing I'd do before putting on the above mentioned parts are the following:

Full Tune-up
Cap Rotor (brass)
Wires (ATR or better)
Plugs (correct ones)
FUEL PUMP (stock one is marginal with stock setup, ,let alone the mods you're planning)
AFPR (adjustable fuel pressure regulator)
Fuel filter
Some kind of new air filter, (drop in K&N?)

Boost gauge (since the stock one may not be accurate and only goes to 15lbs)

Can anyone think of anything else?

Esss in the house!
Always get a scan tool. For the SyTys, DataMaster is usually the monitor of choice.

I'm in MI. There is a shop right down the street from me (Aggressive Auto), they do mostly Grand Nationals, but the owner Bruce said they have done a handful of SYs and TYs. They did all the work on all my cars, so i trust them totally. I have already did plugs and wires, didn't think of the rotor though (thanks) everything else on your list is coming thank you for your input

yep had that on the first draft and then my fat fingers wiped it, and had to retype it......

Diacom, DataMaster, or some other Scan tool......most important.!!!

Welcome. I'm in Dearborn Heights MI. Where you located?

Be careful with the chip. Where did you order that stuff from?

These trucks don't take so kindly to mods, so get a scantool (datamaster) before you change anything from stock.

You also want to pull your ECM down, and see if there is any chip in there already. You want to start out stock and keep it that way until its tuned well with no knock.

I'd be glad to help you out if your interested, just don't start modding it until you know its perfect in stock form.

later,
Scott

Welcome!

I am pretty sure I have seen your truck on at least 2 occasions within the past few weeks.

Roseville is just around the corner.

Enjoy the truck
