Sup all.. Just moved up here from LA. Happy to see I'm not the only one in the South Bay with a Ty. Was curious to know if there any reputable repair shops out here familiar with the sy/ty's. Thanks!

There aren't many. I think most of us figure out how to do it ourselves. There are a few of us around here. I'm in Santa Clara. Where are you?

Live, that sucks to hear :( had a great mechanic in LA who has taken care of my baby for years. Would love to find the same up here. She's mostly stock right now. I live in Sunnyvale. I've heard of Speed merchant.. but with out trucks, I'm kinda scared to take her just anywhere as I'm sure you know...

Yeah, so far I haven't run into any mechanic I'd personally trust with this thing. I'd like to find one too. I wouldn't trust speed merchant these days. I know they used to be good, but I've heard horror stories more recently. You'll probably pick up more info at this summers SyTy party if you're comin', You're really close by. We also just moved my Dads business to Sunnyvale, right near Tasman and Lawrence Expressway. I'd like to see your truck if you ever have some time, we should meet up. Jeremy has a Sy and he lives near us both as well. Good to have another SyTyer in the area.

Sounds like a plan. I could definetely do that. Right now I know I have a power steering leak that I need to get fixed. In time I need to get the heater core replaced and the AC pump replaced. No climate control at all right now. But yeah, It's good to see others in the hood. I saw a red ty on 280 yesterday gettin off at Saratoga and thats what got me thinkin'.

Re: New to South Bay (Silicon Valley)

Welcome;

Please give me a call and I will introduce you to the gang at Campbell Auto. My cell is 408-439-6469. Also please plan on coming to my 8th annual SY/TY party that looks to be on 7/22/06. All the guys from Cambell show up and you can get some good ideas on your ride. Also anytime you have the time to hook up swing on by the house and I will show you V8EATER and we can have a few cold ones. I have one of Mike Lee's monster motors running NOS.

Take care,

Tom

NorCal, I've been hearing about this 1000hp beast you have. I totally need to check it out. I need to meet you and live. Cool to know I'm not alone up here :) And as far as Campbell automotive goes, I'm excited that there are places up here that you guys actually trust. I'm in a gradual process to restore my baby back to her glory days, so the help is greatly appreciated.

July 22nd sounds like a plan. Unless my job has me travelling somewhere :)

Re: New to South Bay (Silicon Valley)

welcome!!! I am in san jose. My friend works at Speedmerchant. I trust him but he is not the only one who works on cars. I do all the work myself. But I am having trouble finding a problem. Heater core is easy as with most fixes on our trucks. They just take time to figure out the first time.
What color is your TY. I have seen a black one with gold markings on 280 the past few weeks. Thats the only one I have seen. I usualy cruse downtown san Jose on the weekends with some 100oct looking for some rice to eat.LOL There are some fast SYTY's in the area. They all make my truck look slow.

Re: New to South Bay (Silicon Valley)

Welcome, also, from the wine country. Remember Sonoma County makes wine, Napa makes auto parts. Sorry, had to slip that in. Hope to see you at Toms bash. Looking a good selection of trucks this year.

gjp. Nice to meet ya. Well that def. wasn't me as mine is white/grey and is no longer my daily driver, partially because of an electric gremlin I have. It shuts off while driving sometimes.. 1 more thing on my list of things to be fixed :)

what up NorCal peeps?!

what up NorCal peeps?!

hey everyone,
been gone from the area since the end of 2003, on an international work assignment in Amsterdam. Still own my home not too far from Mike Bridges and Tom Down, my ty stays with my parents in the Rose Garden area.

anyways, was catching up with the posts ..... miss the norcal events and meeting up with everyone. will drop you all a line when i am back visiting in the area. i should be out there twice before the end of 2006.

BTW, i've recently signed-on to stay out here another 2.5 years.... at least my ty is getting better average years driven while i am away.

hasta,
patrick d
