Re: New Syclone Owner

Yeah, what they said. Leave it in one piece untill we get a chance to look at it. Ill be back in town next week so maybe we can come see it on the 19th and see what you have going on. I may have some of the A/C controls and other parts you need too.

Re: New Syclone Owner

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice. I will not take it apart until someone who knows a lot more than I do looks at it....When you get home, call me at 615-591-0172 and I will arrange to get the truck to you. The previous owner took off the air conditioning and several other parts to stuff the new parts in it....BUT that too may not be an issue if you guys feel differently.....I do want air conditioning...Its Hot here in the summer. I have not registered it yet because I feel sure it will fail the smmissions test so it sits everyday until I get the engine right. Again...Thanks everyone....Bob in Franklin

by all means, get a scan tool/datalogger on it before you yank anything. may be something fairly simple.

Re: New Syclone Owner

I am about 35 minutes from Franklin. I have free time on weekends usually. You need to get into the southeast forum and get your truck up to Joe's house when we have a get together. Jimmy has Datamaster, and i have diacom, so one of us could possibly see whats going on. I'd say plugs, cap, rotor, and 02 sensor would be a great start. All of us have had our trucks at least 10 years, so we have been through alot of parts on them. I am glad to see another local truck.

***UPDATE***

I wanted to update JimBob's thread. The previous owner tried to build it as a "racing truck" and parts were either worn out, bent, out of adjustmentor or as JimBob put it "Jury-rigged". He wanted to make it drive as close to new as he could.
He has done a lot of work to the yellow Sy including...

Done by someone else: Complete Engine rebuild. Replaced the entire A/C system, Interior Air/Heat/Fan Control unit, both power window motors, OE airbox/filter/tubing, glove box (OE Syclone emblem), thermostat, starter, turbo, bushings (A arms, end link, sway bar), new shocks, replaced "carbon fiber" tail lights with OE ones, repaired the headliner, replaced the cluster and pillar gauges, serviced front and rear drive units (front axels, bearings, seals, fluids), added sound deadener, realigned the front cladding, replaced the bed liner, and relocated battery to the bed.

Done by me: New vacuum lines, correctly installed turbo, replaced missing brackets, repaired wiring, new boost control solenoid, new OE fuel pressure regulator, installed isolator to f.p. gauge, Racetronix harness, walbro 255 ltr. fuel pump, new gas tank, realigned the rear cladding and misc other repairs.

Re: New Syclone Owner

JimBob will come to our next gathering. If he doesn't we'll just find out where he lives and we'll all just show up at his house.
