NEW Syclone battery relocation kit **DELETE**

I wanted to share my battery relocation idea with the forum judging interest in having kit's made. The details are the battery is relocated under right side of bed between the cladding and the right front leaf spring mount. Best of all it uses the factory battery tray (modified), and provides easy access for service. Requires removing cladding support bar in front of right rear tire for battery installation and removal. Installation requires cutting of both the factory battery tray and a 5"x1.5" section of front right bed support mount. Also Drilling and tapping holes Kit's will include Taylor red #4 battery cable from starter to battery with heat shielded red sleeve to protect from exhuast heat. 3/8" bolt eye cable ends (positive&ground) with heat shrinked connections. A 1' long #4 Taylor black ground cable to frame. Includes all 304 stainless mounting hardware and heavy duty Eaton cable support eye's that are tapped into the boxed section of the frame with 3/8" stainless hardware. Includes drill bit and tap in kit. Requires a side post Interstate MT-75 or close to 9-1/2" Long, 7-1/2" Tall, 7-1/2" Wide. Price will be determined with interest, I can sell cable and hardware kits only for the DIY battery tray people or you can ship me your tray and i will modify and paint sending it back with cables and hardware. Let me know what you think, right now i have the time and connections to make kits. Trying to provide an option for those who absolutly can not have their battery in the engine bay and do not like it being in the bed.

Pictures Yes, Link down below. Thank you Jason!

Id like to see pics. Sounds like you basically made a better version of the Kenne Bell kit.

Is this going to be NHRA legal with a battery cut off switch?

I was going to add a flaming river cut off switch and ford style relay and decided not to. What exactly are the NHRA rules for battery relocation?

Re: NEW Syclone battery relocation kit

i dont know why lot of guys spend all the time to run cables and buy cables etc to put a batt under the bed, when you can put a pc680 right under the stock batt location and not even need to change cables.just curious,is it a nhra thing ?

Sent 16 pics via E-mail, please host them if possible. I can make one kit free of charge just send your tray and shipping cost. For someone who has the time to post pics of installation and feedback on quality and installation would be greatly appreciated, i do not have the time and computer "time" skills to do so. Battery not included = )

Re: NEW Syclone battery relocation kit

no go on a Ty?

I think there is more room under a Sy because the bed sits further above the frame rails.

This post is kinda worthless without pictures. Can someone host pictures? I have them saved on my pc and can e-mail them.

Re: NEW Syclone battery relocation kit

I originally had the "Nolan"battery tray mod under the stock location with the stock tray like i currently have on the Typhoon. Decided it would be to tight for the battery in that location on the Syclone with the large turbo and IC piping. Moving it to this location could'nt have worked any better. No drilling into the bed, no running cables through the bed, and no expensive battery box/mount to buy.

Installation is simple, cutting the battery tray is tedious work. I used a mini air saw or a band saw works very well. Notching the bed mount is simple with a angle grinder and cutoff wheel. drilling and tapping the holes for the positive cable might be tricky with a motor/trans in the truck but not impossible. Mounting the tray is the easiest part.

Thank you for hosting the pics and for the compliment on my electrical work. I should spend some time figuring out how to host pictures. I have a ton of pictures of my build i'd love to share someday when it's done. The pictures are without a motor & trans, the positive battery cable is protected from the exhaust from red Taylor spark plug wire sleeve. I can take a few pictures with the Interstate battery if anyone is interested. The picture of the right front bed mount is notched fairly larger than needed to clear the positive side post connection. I will later add a cut off switch out the back bumper when the truck starts to see more track time. Using the same cable connections. Making somthing simular might work on the Typhoon where the old air ride pump was. Making it work and look good would be tricky trying to use the factory tray.

Re: NEW Syclone battery relocation kit

I guess everyone is putting the small battery's under the stock location, not on my truck. I dont like the battery under the hood. Anything thats causing clutter is gone.

Well know one seems to be interested, you cant say i offerd. I get a sweet deal on the cables and hardware. Anyone who use's this idea please post pics or feel free to ask questions, I like to see innovative idea's work. Anyways this post can be deleted if needed. Thanks Jason for hosting pictures, let me know if you need some custom cable's.

I like the idea Erik..planning to do the same thing soon to relocate my battery. Pics were a big help..I even have the ATR kit and would rather have my battery under the bed.
