Re: New SY Owner

with 37k, leave it stock. unless you plan to drive it. I bought a 90k truck so I can drive it. Eventualy I will get a low mile one to collect it.

you can leave it almost stock and reach 12s pretty easily.

Re: New SY Owner

If I do keep it stock???? Should I sit on it (collect) or drive it (enjoy). I already have a 99 S-10 Extreme w/a 396 ci LT1, Yank built 4L60E, 4 wheel discs, etc...It will run 10's, pull 1G on the pad and brake in 100ft with all the creature comforts. It's my attempt at the Car Craft Real Street Eliminator. WE"LL SEE???

Re: New SY Owner

WOW. Just keep it stock and take it out on a nice sunny day to keep it happy. Your s-10 will give you the speed fix you need.

it doesn't take mods to get rid of knock....unless you have something wrong/broken thats cuasing the knock. Often its false, and just requires some simple steps to get rid of or at least mitigate. Tuning....if you can't yourself ask someone who can. These trucks are so one-off that trucks w/ identical builds will run differently w/ the same chip. Too many variables/inconsistencies make for headaches.

Re: New SY Owner

Looks like my SY will need a few little things, like a steering shaft coupler, possibly a cat and maybe a new boost gauge. That gauge is wack!!!! Any help out there?????

SyTyless......for now!
Re: New SY Owner

Congrats on the truck! Was that the one @ Infiniti of Scottsdale? My dad was looking at one they had listed on Ebay, but it sold pretty quick.

Stab it and steer it
Re: New SY Owner

Stock boost gauge is not worth much. All kinds of pillar setups out there but I'm partial to a mechanical gauge on the vac/boost. Fuel pressure is prolly next on that list. This is a great group. There are almost no stupid questions here. Use the search feature and when you give up just ask. (Like I do...)

Welcome!
