Look up starter tick or starter wire in the search before you change it out. Its a well known problem that the thick wire going to it touches the hot downpipe and will make a tick sound when you try to start it. Sometimes if you try to start it multiple times quickly just blipping the ignition it will start.

Never heard of starter tick but I do know that over time it's very common to have the starter solenoid heat soak cause less voltage to reach the starter resulting in the famous "click, click"

Do a search for that, you'll see most use a remote start solenoid or a relay inline to resolve the issue for good. Also could try heat wrapping the positive cable and that small purple wire to help prevent heat soak from taking it's toll on them as well which is extremely common as well. Just search for "purple wire"

OH yea congrads and good luck... best thing to do is read and read the hell out of this site before doing anything... and if you don't see what your lookin for ask, most people in here have completely taken there trucks apart and put them back together at one point and knomw all there is to know
