New Stuff New Problems - APU1 & GP1

Well, I finally got my order in from Moates and couldn't wait to hook everything up. It took me a while to get everything situated in the truck but the apu1 ROCKS!!! the emulation is great. but now I have another problem. I hooked up the usb aldl connector and was using tunerPro RT and the dashboard will not work. So I downloaded WinALDL and Datamaster along with TunerCat and none of them will work to see my mph, o2, KR etc..... I think the data logging works because I told it to make a new file and it does show that it is recording. I haven't opened up one of the files to see though. But I think I have the settings on the autoprom correct. the left switch is on 10k and the outwards switch is away from the the cat 5 cable. Does anyone have any ideas why it won't work???

If you dont see data then you are most likely not logging.

I have an autoprom, and it wouldnt read data (or connect) while in Autoprom mode either- until I got the ALDL patched bin.

Going from memory, the 10k switch should be in the middle postition, and the horizontal switch should be towards the middle of the unit for Autoprom mode- or emulation. With a non- ALDL patched bin the ECM has trouble communicating in this mode. If you switch the horizontal switch "out" or away from the middle of the unit, and set the settings in TP as follows-
Tools....preferences..... "interface type"- choose "max 232/2-trans/..." and make sure your Com port selection is correct. You should now be able to see data and log it. but not emulate simultaneously until you have the patched bin.

Turbodig has the patch, and I think he posted a stock SyTy patched bin on this site somewhere.

OH yeah, once you get the patched bin go back to the "autoprom" setting with the switch moved in towards the unit.

And the problem was? Remember, one day someone else will have the same problem and it would be really nice to finish the thread with the solution so when they use the "search" function, this very useful thread will pop up.

My problem ended up being a huge com port conflict between the apu and another device i had connected to the computer.

The Apu will not datalog and emmulate at the same time though. I still have major learning to do before I can say that I totally understand the emmulation.

Make sure you get the ALDL patch that Turbodig posted. Without it you will never be able to datalog and emulate at the same time.

Make sure you go into your Preferences on the ALDL/Emulation tab and set the Interface Type to Autoprom. Once you have that done, make sure you have the Switch on the Autoprom set correct for it to be in Autoprom mode and not ALDL passthru.

Open up Tunerpro, it should find your hardware and say in the bottom left Corner of the program, AutoProm 2.75A (or what ever version of the BIOS on it you have). If it sees it and you have the preferences set, you should be able to log and emulate at the same time.
