Good day to all I am new to this site and to the syty community. I recently put my motorcycle up for sale or trade for a sporty car and got alot of offers but the one I couldnt pass up was a trade for a 1992 Typhoon. The clear coat is peeling, it has a couple small rust spots, the rear window was busted out, some cladding is missing, shifter linkeage was jacked up, blinkers were missing, driver window was jammed and wouldnt move. The good news is the underbody is clean as hell and the interior is all there and in great shape the only thing missing is the arm rest that is also the cover on the center console. The truck runs and driver great though, only mod is a boost guage. It hits 15psi max and spools to 4psi off the line and foot brake. No smoke, no leaks. Suspension is a little saggy in the back.

So far I have fixed alot of the problems in the first week. New rear window, fixed shifter linkeage, fixed the driver side window, put in blinkers. The truck is driveable and registered/insured.

I read on here that if you own a st/ty it should not be your first performance vehicle and I agree with these trucks being so old and such a specific powertrain. My first car was a 79 malibu wit ha 6cyl that i swapped a 355/turbo350 into when i was 17. I have owned dsms, 96 formula, 2000 trans am, and a supra as well as alot of DDs. Currently my DD is a 2005 legacy gt. None of these cars were stock almost all were very far from it. I have rebuilt/replaced engines and transmissions aswell as every seal and gasket under the sun and most drivetrain parts on cars in the past. Body work is def my weakness when it comes to vehicles and this truck needs some so it will be a learning experience in that sense. I feel confident I can make this truck into quite the beast with some tiem and possible help from this forum and its memebers.

I need cladding pieces if anyone has ones for sale or knows the best place to get ones that fit well. Any and all help/info would be appreciated.

Members "yar" and "Sportmachines" have that cladding. You are probably looking at $1500+

Welcome aboard

Welcome

I think this is your truck http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=79295

Are the last four numbers of your VIN 1902 ?

Yep, that is def the same truck. 1902.

I figured it would be about 1500 for the cladding. which is fine. I wont need it for a while anyway as I am taking all the cladding off to begin body work. I will most likely paint the truck red again with black cladding and rims. Suspension and maintanence are all the mechanically mods I have planned for now.

So the first thing i want to do is replace the suspension while I am cleaning all the surface rust and putting sealant on the underbody. And suggestions on suspension parts? I would like a nice set of coilovers, adjustable if possible but really its the rear suspension that needs help and i do not need self leveling bs.

Also I have a front mount from a supra that I was thinking about fabing into this truck. I dont really like the air to water bs and all the extra hoses/pumps that go with it and i can save some space in the engine bay. Ik the intercooler can handle the pressure and I can make a kit not problem but i just wanted to ask if you guys see any downside.
