Let me start out with how I first found out about these Trucks. My old principle ,who I was working for after graduating , had white 1993 and he had me get in looking for kids ditching. He got on it a couple times not too much but just enough to where I was like woww ,what kind of truck is this. FAST FWD 2005 in Texas, working there for a month, spotted a 1987 Buick Grand National In used car lot. Whatttt, no way u don't see them anywhere in lots. Took it for a test drive and granny cruised it ,noticing even then the tires where trying to take the pavement from beneath it, trying to break loose. Yeah I better keep driving it slow. Told the dealer I want it, and he knew this was his last ride. He told me to take it down this rode and we can get in it. Texas has 93 octane and the boost was set max for 25psi. I'm at the light waiting for it to turn green , and thinking I'm just gonna slide just midway into and that way I can handle it.
NOPE....
Started to get into it and tires smoked the hole intersection. Was like man I didn't even get half way into it. Funny thing was, the salesman in a shakey voice says , Did ya see how much boost was on there , he said 25 psi, I said No way man..I was trying to make sure I kept this thing straight. We both laughed after.
This is where my boost Addiction first found love. Learned alot of good and bad about these fine automobles and always wanted a Typhoon after those 2 impacts of my life.
I have a couple questions about this1993 Typhoon which is a Previous 1 owner Northen C.A. car, previous owner took good care of it and I knew it . He may be registered on here still or one of you may know the truck. Previous owner I heard was a Doctor or Dentist and had a stroke a couple years back. Car runs Tight ,but not that massive push u back in your seat like the 1st GN I had. (Had a total of 4 ) life has us sale them sometimes when we don't want to, but I'm keeping this TY it's not going Anywhere.
1. How do u find out what numbered Ty you have, is that what is on the Vin or where do you locate this info?
2. My buddy just registered on here looking for answers and may have talked to a couple of you already. Does your AC work well and cold like new cars and raise your temp up to 180 and lil beyond. We did find a coolant leak and will need to adress it ASAP.
3 What is the hottest your Truck has got to on a hot day, was going up the treacherous CA 5,Big hill ,and it got up to 220ish I turned on the heater a little before this, i didnt want my New Ty to have a blown motor before I could even have fun, it helped and maintained till I got to the top of the hill and always runs around 180ish on the street till I turn on the a.c.
Thanks for any advice or help in advance, Newbie Ty Guy
