I'd like to start by offering my condolences, I read about the tragic loss of David "myclone" Welch on S-Series.org. From what I've read, it sounds like he was a great guy, and will be missed by a lot of people.

After that, there isn't much about me that seems worth mentioning.. It kinda ruins the mood thinking about the loss of a fellow car enthusiast.

My name is Brandon, I'm 26, Lancaster NY, been into cars and trucks since I was young.
Always a big fan of domestics, specifically GM products. Used to build models, one of the first few I built was a Syclone. Although I lack all the necessary skills to complete a car... I tinker, and enjoy myself while doing it. I learned the very very basic things from my father (alternators, brakes etc...) And have done what I can to learn the rest myself.....

Between my girlfriend and myself, we've got our GM fleet started...

1981 Cutlass Cruiser wagon 307 4bbl (Shared purchase) 455 Rocket planned in the future

1986 Monte Carlo SC 4.3 TBI (Mine) Daily driver, no serious plans as of right now

1991 S10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 4.3 TBI (Mine) Plans include AWD conversion, 300++++ all motor hp etc........................

1996 Monte Carlo LS 3100 (Hers)

In reality, I don't think I'll ever get anything finished that I'd like, but it's nice to dream, and it's nice to have some kind of goal set to work towards.

Thanks for reading,

-Brandon

Welcome to the group. I notice you fix the Syclone. So is that your real job? (Coroner)

You should put a GN engine in that thing. If you do a internet search you may find the guy that made a 1970 442 W-30 hood that was a bolt-on deal with the ram-air working for your wagon.

My girlfriend and I never considered a GN engine, our original idea was to use an olds 455, then we changed our mind to use a SBC 350 because of their availability and low cost to build. But we're leaning back towards a 455 to try to keep it authentic, so to speak. Although they never offered a 455 in the A/G body changeover vehicles, it'd be nice to run an olds engine in an olds.

Not to mention I'm dying to build ANYTHING that'll blow the doors off my girlfriend's uncles 67 BBC 454 Chevelle.

Kind of why I changed my mind from lifting my Blazer, and decided to go AWD, and start a massive 4.3 build. What could hurt more than losing to a V6 Blazer?

Anyways, here's a crappy camera phone picture from last fall of our cars before I got the Blazer..

Re: New Lurker

Nice. I had an 85 monte sc 4.3 that was the best car I ever owned, especially over the ss, but it had no resale value.

Re: New Lurker

The 455 will bolt in. My wife and I once had a 1982 Cutlass Cruiser wagon with the 350 Olds Diesel (the real diesel) that you could make a 454 gas engine from. That thing got 37mpg on the hwy and 27mpg in the city after I added Slick 50 to the motor and trans. Before the treatment it was 18 in the city and 27 on the hwy. We had that wagon for 325,000 trouble free miles.
