Re: New here from Chicago

I'm just west of Ohare airport. Dam planes!!! It's a 93 Typhoon w/ 22,000 miles it sat for 18 years in a warehouse ( I was told) I have replaced all the rubber hoses and fluids, installed a duel electric cooling fan, new intercooler and pump, cleaned and painted some stuff in the engine compartment, replaced all the suspension rubber. Now I'm working on the oil pan gasket and turbo return hose this sux!!!! But I love the truck.

Re: New here from Chicago

Welcome. I'm down the street from Ohare off of Touhy. If you have any questions I'm here to help. Us Chi-town guys usually meet up often, you should come along.

Re: New here from Chicago

I'm right off of Thorndale and 83 in Wood Dale. As soon as I get this thing off of the stands I will like to meet up. The lower end of the engine was making a slight ticking/knocking noise when it warmed up and the oil pan gasket and turbo return line was leaking so I decided to take the oil pan down (still working on it) and see if I spun a bearing or I'm hoping it's something else I don't know what????? I'm not sure what a spun bearing looks like. When I drained the oil it was clean no shavings. Anyway if I have any questions I will post.

Re: New here from Chicago

I know about the injectors. I was laying under the truck and heard it near the center of the oil pan. I'm hoping its nothing but a loose pick up. Fingers crossed:(.

I had the same sort of experence. I did the old screwdriver to the oilpan and it sounded fine. I was told the injectors tick, but I haven't found any other problems. The only time I hear the sound is when I'm on the ground or have my ear at mirror height. My only thoughts that are left is valvetrain, but when my head is over the engine, no sound. Anyways, I still drive it the same and the noise doesn't change.....
