Gotta agree with Dave here that it does look like a Grand Am front with a Grand Prix rear. I like it. I kinda wish they would have put there own styling concepts to it to make it stand out more.

Rumor has it that the Chevelle is coming back out, but it's going to look like a Cavalier, at least from the front. The reason I say this is that all of the drawings lI've seen look like a bigger Cav. It would be nice to see the Chevelle nameplate again, but GM needs to think outside the box instead of going with current trends. But then again, this is why I work at Dart Container Corporation and not at General Motors.

The rumor mill has it that:

1. With the demise of the F-car, SLP turned its attention to engine packages
and mustang parts (yep mustang). It quietly dropped its monster GTO, C5-R based
427 engine package (costing $25000) and added a 402 short block. The engine
is based on GMs 6.0 liter iron truck block and comes assembled as short block
with steel crank and forged pistons, minus a camshaft. With right heads/cam
it should be good for 500 hp and costs $4000 (without core charges). Weight
is about 100 lbs more on GTO.

2. 6.0 liter/LS6 GTO in 2005, making just under 400 hp (so as not to step on Vettes).
Preview was at GTO Performance Plus show car at SEMA.

3. 186 mph C6 (ie the new bodied Vette), with 4.1 sec 0-60 times, 1/4 mile 12.6 second, and .92+ g`s

4. 2005 1/2 ZO6 Vette gets 427 LS7 (may have 3 valve cyclinder heads, dry sump oiling
and clutchless manual tranny) with hp figures of 575 being thrown around.

5 At New York Auto Show in April, there was a Buick concept car called the Velite.

Was hauling along in my work truck when a ugly silver car starts merging into the street I'm on from a stop light, he gets one it and is up to speed in no time! and then passes me by, first thought was damn that's ugly but sure is fast, and boy it sounds great! Still had the dealer paper plates, cought him at the stop light and saw it was a GTO..... hmmm love the sound of that stock exhaust.

Yes it sure is ugly. It doesn't have any extraneous pinstripes. It doesn't have any unnecessary hood scoops...didn't have any worthless humps, bumps or sccops. Take a peak at the interior sometime and even try to compare it to standard GM crap.

The interior is far better than most GM crap. It doesn't have the same crappy plastic we have come to love in the Pontiac line.

GM has the best GUTS of them all minus the Sy's and Ty's that is :lol: GM has really never got into the looks like Chrysler but isn't the GTO only going to be produced just for another year or two? I know the contract is really short until the Camaro and TA are brought back to life. GM promo bs! Just wish GM would make that Siverado SS 2dr supercharged

GM won't put in anything more than 400ci in any of it's cars.
