Well, I do not own a Syclone, or a Typhoon for that matter. I do have a 1991 TPI 355 4x4 5 speed S-10 pickup though. I have also sourced all of the parts (t-case, front diff, driveshafts, x-members) to convert it to all wheel drive.

I am in the middle of converting the instrument cluster to a Pontiac Sunbird cluster, and am needing the brackets (I have posted to the classifieds as well).

I guess you could call this project my half assed budget Syclone build (I have always wanted one but could never afford it). Probably not near as fast as a Syclone, but it did put down 207hp & 303ft lbs of tourqe last weekend.

Anyways, from what I have read so far this looks like a great forum and am happy to be a part of it.

P.S. If anyone reads this and has a set of cluster brackets, p.m. me please.

I am in Arlington, and I have ridden in your blue Typhoon, remember your girlfriend was in the back seat and you almost snapped her head off when you launched.

I have alot more pics, just have not loaded them into photobucket yet.

Re: New Forum Member Here

The instrument cluster brackets are not interchangable, they are Sy/Ty/Sonoma GT specific.

I know & I wasn't directing towards you Sorry I meant syclone rider.

I just bought a SGT so maybe when I take my cluster out to see what's up with my gauges I might could fabricate you some? What specific year did the Sunbird Gt have these setups & I'll keep an open eye in my local scrap yards for you as well?

I think these style Sunbird clusters were used from 87 to 90, but they did not use the brackets (I pulled the 2 clusters I have myself). The instrument cluster for the Turbo Sunbird, Syclone, and Typhoon are identical in every respect. I just need the Sy/Ty/SGT brackets to make this Sunbird (non turbo) cluster fit my truck. I have also figured out how to modify the tach so it reads correctly for the V8.

Here are the clusters I have, the top is a Metric turbo cluster (may throw on ebay for the Canadian Ty/Sy owners to fight over), the bottom is the non turbo cluster I am installing in my truck.

Re: New Forum Member Here

If I new I wouldn't forget actually how fast I was going (as I suck in Math) I'd trade you a True SGT cluster for the the metric just because it shows 200 on it :rotf:. Imagine the look on people's faces seeing that 200kmh in a truck thinking mph!!!

The metric cluster has mph on the inside of the needle sweep, just like our US clusters have kmh on the inside of the needle sweep.

Not looking for a trade, but am open to offers (save me the ebay fees). I am not supposed to offer this item for sale in this topic though, so forget I mentioned it.

I know it reads MPH but I would eventually color match the inside to my truck or black it out so I'd forget .... trust me:lol:. I'm not supposed to buy anything either being new here but I bet you somebody would buy my parts If they needed them & I gave Paypal info  but rules are rules for good reason

I think we can buy, as we are allowed to post to the "wanted" section, but cannot post items for sale until we have some posts under our belts.
