Re: New Chip Features (Code59)
Ok so I just ran the new code, and here is a little feedback for everyone.
My test was shortened by a small problem. When I plugged in the 3 bar, it worked fine. Then 3 miles down the road my map readings went haywire, and the truck barely ran. I limped it home and found a mushed pin on the map connector. Not sure how that happened but its fixed now. Unfortunately, that snafu ended my session due to the strong desire to make the truck run right- its my driver.
While the code was running and the 3 bar was cooperating, it seemed to run fine. Paul sent me a starter bin- which I lowered the boost tables to 14.8x psi like stock. I also enabled "WB closed loop" and "use new desired AF ratio".
I started the truck and let it idle for a bit. ALDL connection was made right away, WITH EMULATION !!! Something I have never seen before, with my autoprom!!! My WB AF ratio was displayed right there, which was also new to me as I have never used the patch before on $58.
The tune Paul sent wasnt too far off. ( A little rich- like you said) which was good, better safe than sorry for a drive. Going down the road I saw AF ratios just richer than commanded. I checked the BLMS and they were locked at 128, so I figured it was set to enable at a high temp- which it was- like 151C. I was not sure if I should leave this locked out on the factory NB or not so I didnt mess with it. I made a short blast enabling AE and PE, but didnt really hit much if any boost. The new code seemed to run just fine before the MAP problems started.
My thoughts so far;
The code seems to run and operate very close to stock, even with the rough tune I used. No hiccups in my short drive (before the map prob). I plan to test this more, but I ran out of time today. I would like to tune it further, and see what differences it can really make. I dont know if this code is for me though. My Ty is all stock except for some muffler shop 3" cat back the PO had installed. I dont like the idea of having my WB dedicated to the Ty, to make the most of the code. I would like to get the tune close, then run it open loop and see how it does, without the WB.
I think it has some serious potential in a modified SyTy. Whether I will realize the benefit of it in my stock Ty is yet for me to determine.
Great work guys!!!!
