Need some Ultimate Chip info

Hey everyone, I am in need of some instructions or some information on the ultimate chip. I have just had a engine switch done and there are still some bugs that we are trying to work out and I think it is chip related for sure. The Sy that I bought had a lock up engine in it. It had the Ultimate installed in it when I got it. The engine that we put in, came out of a wrecked 93 Ty that we had. It has bigger injectors and a kenne bell chip in it. The truck is up at a friends shop and we are just trying to get the kinks worked out. I don't know much about the chip at all. The truck will run like a raped ape one day and will barely stay running the next with tons of black smoke. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!

Don't know if this will help you or not but I just bought a truck with an Ultimate chip in it as well and this was the first website I visited to learn a bit more.

Also, everyone's favorite answer on any forum is to use the search button. Contrary to most sites, the one here actually works! Good luck, there's a ton of info on here.

Re: Need some Ultimate Chip info

thanks for the info so far, the engine was blown and locked up, sorry for the mis spell. I am not sure the model # on the chip(the truck is about an hour from me right now)it has the pillar gauge if that is any indication. I don't know if the 3 bar was switched or not when the engine was switched(didn't even think about that). The injectors are 50lbs(I am pretty sure). It has a walboro pump that was bad to, that has been replaced with a new one too. I will see if I can get more info soon on what's going on. I have had 5 TY's but I can kept them all pretty stock so this is kind of new to me. Again, thanks for the pointers so far, I really appreciate it!

Make sure that you have the right MAP sensor in there, it will make a BIG difference. If you are unsure which MAP sensor that you have, here's how you can determine which one that you have:

IMG_0250.sized.jpg

"MAP sensors, stock 2 bar on left #16009886 and 3 bar on right old number is #16040749 new # is #12223861. On the topside where the plug connects, there is a number for identification. 1 bar MAP=039, 460, 876 or 883. 2 bar MAP=012, 539, 609, 701, or 886. 3 bar MAP=749 or 861. The 4 digit number to the right refers to the date of manufacture "1100"= 2001, 100th day of the year."
