i have a wire on the drivers side. about 12-16 gauge? red and it has a fuse holder with a 10 amp bus type fuse in it and a ring terminal on the end.....where does this go? if i put it on the alternator, all the interior lights stay on..should i put it on an acessory only lead on the firewall???

thanks in advance for any help.

ok Daron...here goes:
after ptuuing my truck back together(heads off) i re connected all of the wire clips and such. thid wire i mentioned seems to run to the alternator.however when i connect it to the alternator all of the warning lights on the dash and center counsel come on without the keys in the ignition. the wire seems like it would run along the drivers side fuel rail and toward the alternator. it is a red wire with a blck fuse holder on it with a 10 amp fuse in it and a small ring terminal on the end. that is as much of a description as i can give.
any ideas????????

Yup, sounds like the intercooler pump fuse to me... It does come out of the big wiring harness that runs parallel to the driver's side valve cover right? There should be two fusible links connected to the same post on the alternator that the IC pump fuse shares (the ring terminal). Double check your all your wires, something isn't connected properly (duh :-? ) HTH's

ya it comes out of that large black wire loom paralleling the drivers side valve cover. all is well when i dont connect that wire. when i do everything messes up. if you guys think it is the ic pump wire then i dont even need it!! p.s. it is the only wire underneath our hoods that has a small rubber fuse holder with a bus fuse in it.
thanks for your help guys, im gonna see what happens if i just dont use it.

race or get outta the way
the only wire under the hood with a cylindrical bus fuse is the fuse for the underhood light.

YES  !!!!!!!!!

thats it wes, what does it do????????

As they said, that's the IC pump power line. Sounds like something got shorted out when you removed that or something...

well i assume you removed the lower ic and the pump, what'd you do w/ the power/ground wires that powered the pump? Did you removed them, or are the just floating in the engine bay? You should probably removed all of that excess and useless (at this point) stuff.
