Need help tracking down some Soundsplinter RL-i 8s

Broke Ass Racing
I think I've decided to try and squeeze a pair of Soundsplinter RL-i 8's in my Syclone. Only problem seems to be the lack of available subs. I *think* I want the dual voice coil models, but to be 100% honest, I don't understand the difference. If any one can help me track down a pair, I would really appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on an amp to push the hell out of them, I'm all ears :)

Thanks!

I dont know anything about that sub but here's my take on Single vs dual voice coils.

A single voice coil measures 4 ohms

A dual has 2 of those in the same sub.
They can be wired in parallel for a total resistance of 2 ohms, or in series for a resistance of 8 ohms.

When you start dropping the load on an amplifier down to 2 ohms and below it HAS to be capable of supplying High Current demands.
HCCA Orion amps were stable down to a half ohm, which meant you could run 3 dual voice coil subs with all of their voice coils in parallel on a single channel.

If you get a 2 channel amp and put 2 ohms on each channel it should treat them like they are in series for a total amp load of 4 ohms.
Which most respectable amps should handle.

1/2 ohm stuff is top dollar and usually requires beefed up power distribution and stiffening caps.

As far as amps go. Best bang for the buck in my opinion would be hifonics, ran them many of times and they deliver. a litle power hungry but they get the job done and are inexspensive. Also if u wanna run somethin old school like the truck Im partial to the old ppi art series. run them in all my trucks. old school orion, us amps, old rockford are all good choices that you can pick up on ebay pretty cheap.

You can play around with ohm configurations to match your amps. HIFONICS ZXi-6006 amp on ebay is only like $150 shipped to your door. Its rated at 150x2 @ 4ohms or 300x2 @ 2 ohms. If your subs can handle 300, pick up two dual 4 ohm voice coil subs wire them in parallel and bam 300watts to each sub.

If you have issues with current draw and lights dimming id first do the BIG3 ( upgrading all your charging and ground cables to 4ga or larger, then a deep cycle battery then last high amp alternator. Do the Big3 if the problem is fixed good, if not continue on the list until it is.

Sorry for the long post kinda got carried away.....................
