What did you do? cost?

I did JS Coilovers, Dunstan Tie Rods, Moog Pitman and Idler arms, ZQ8, Renz's shaft, & Baer Brakes. I spent around ~2300. At the time I also did my old high Typhoon (this is what got me started checking my Sy), shocks, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm, brakes. I spent ~600.

When you say knock, do you mean pre-detonation, or internal noise of hard parts hitting each other? No idea about the pan gasket.

Don't know if this helps but the previous owner(before the guy you bought it from) mentioned a "motor noise" in one of his ebay adds. I remember because I was "looking" at that truck. I believe it stated he was told by a mechanic it could be the timing chain? :2cents:

Yes, the truck had a noise when I had, but the noise only happened briefly. I was told originally that it could've been the timing chain, but I got under the truck when it was on a lift and found that the noise was coming from the back of the motor. I pulled the inspection cover, and re torqued the converter bolts. Noise went away. Not sure if this is what is happening now, but I doubt it.
