Umm.. not a contest but about the dyno, I say we do some AWD dyno's this year. Theres going to be one in town so why not?

Gabe Estrada is taking care of the dyno this year, but I agree 100%.

#1 I did not care for the service I personally received at raging Motorsports
and
#2 I won't run on a 2wd ever again after that.

And Mike, you wil be required to drink at least 2 before you can enter the floor jack races.
We "might" have a sober class, but don't count on it.

Below are the contest we did last year. As Jason said we try to do some new ones each year. I doubt I'll carry that much stuff to the nats next year unless everyone really wants it. For some of the contests we had to really work to find participants.
The jack race will be fun.

We really need some more new ideas. Doesn't have to be competitive contests just something entertaining.
Two things I wish were possible
Autocross
Portable dyno in the parking lot. That would

How about we clear part of the parking lot and setup a short slalom with cones? The only catch? You do it in reverse. The cones would have to be spaced close to keep the speed very slow due to liability.

Dave mentioned pushing a syty. I don't know about you guys but pushing very hard on the thin metal of a black truck could leave a mark.
However we could use a rope and have teams pull a truck.

Talk with your freinds who don't frequent the bb much and get their ideas.

*Head Swap We will have one or more blocks setup with heads attached. Each contestant will R&R one head. The head and bolts must be placed in a designated area before reinstallation can commence. First one with all bolts torqued to specs and tools in designated area wins and advances to the next round. This is a heads-up race. Names will be drawn to set up the brackets.
1. You may use your own tools if you have them
2. You may use any combination of tools so long as they are hand tools. No electric/battery/air powered tools allowed.
3. Cross thread or strip any bolt you are disqualified.
4. Bolts will be torqued to 65 ft lbs. +/- 10ft lbs. Order is not important.
5. In the event of a tie that round will be repeated.

**Tune-up The block will be complete with distributor, plugs and wires. Each contestant will be timed in removing and replacing the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. All parts will be placed in designated area before reassembly can commence. Any broken parts will result in disqualification. Any tools may be used as long as they are hand tools. No air, electric, battery powered tools allowed. Best time of all contestants wins.

PROPSHAFT R&R- All trucks will be supported by two jackstands and checked by a contest judge prior to anyone getting under a truck. Propshaft must be removed and placed directly in front of the truck including all hardware. Any missing hardware will result in disqualification.

4 WHEEL TIRE CHANGE- Center caps will be removed before starting. Any wheel can be used. Stock jack, and wrench will be located 3 feet in front of the truck prior to start. Factory frame jack points are to be used; placing jack in other than factory jack points will result in disqualification. Each wheel must be removed, rolled around the truck and then replaced. The tire must not leave the ground after beginning the roll around the truck. Lug nuts should be torqued to 95 ft lbs. +/- 10 ft lbs. After all four wheels have been changed all tools must be returned to the start point.

SyTy GRAND PRIX. Does your truck have what it takes? Do you? Want a transmission?

This is the contest that will show who is the best of the best in overall truck/driver combination. Brackets will be randomly set up. The rules regarding modifications are simple. It must be originally titled as a Syclone, Typhoon or Sonoma GT. Beyond that anything goes.
Both trucks will be positioned twenty feet from the start line, engines off in park. Contestants will perform a Lemans style start from a designated area. Before the truck can be started all safety equipment must be in place, i.e. safety belts, helmet, and any other required equipment.

Points are awarded for each criteria listed. Most points advances to the next round.

1.First contestant to light both stage and pre-stage lights. 1 point
NOTE: When both contestants are staged the tree will come down so be ready.

2.Best reaction time. 1 point awarded

3.Best 60-foot time. 1 point awarded

4.Heads up race to the line. 1 point awarded

5.First to stop after crossing the finish line. 1 point awarded
NOTE: Braking before the finish line will result in disqualification.

Winner advances to next round. Brackets will be made up depending on the number of entries.

One we came up with too late to get it on last year was
Floor Jack racing.
Standing on the jack pad of your favorite floor jack, holding the handle as if it were a scooter, using a skateboard type motion to propel yourself and your floor jack down the lot around cones and back.

That sh*t sounds high :D Im down....a few of us may even be running alky ingestion for that one

But you can pop a door or two open. But, my truck is white - so I don't have the thin metal ;)

You guys should hold the nats somewhere closer to the west coast some time. If I came, I would have the furthest distance travelled in the bag unless somebody drives down from Alaska.
