i didnt really think about asking if it was ok to go to the funeral, i just assumed that anyone was welcome. sorry im not very good at this death stuff..... my etiquette might be all wrong. however i would guess that anyone that knew dave is welcome to go.

ok, so the next logical question is, who all is going to try to go? I have a meeting at 10:30am that i'm trying to get out of. Its only 330 miles / 5.5hrs from me...so i'd have to leave at 4:30am in true Lumpy fashion :tup:

I wanted to go very much badly. Tomorrow though for me is my last day of work after 7 years here. :(

I had hoped it was going be over the weekend. I don't think I can swing it. 12 hour drive and there isn't a flight in to Roanoke under $1k

I was going to make the drive over as well, but can't get out of two days work on this short of notice.

I'll make sure some flowers (Do they have flowers in the scent of motor oil?) from the JSM/Indiana/Kentucky crew make it there though.

im going, and unless its breaks tonight im driving the syclone. got plenty of gas cans i can fill with E85 to make the trip. i figure there has to be at least one syclone in the parking lot at the funeral.

I'll send my prayers. I'll actually be in Alexandria VA tomorrow for a meeting at the same time, 4 hours away...but in the same state.

Would be amazing to have some SyTys down there.

Ok I'm going. I'll be leaving shortly and staying overnight in Roanoke. If anyone would like to crash and stay in Roanoke with me and Erue, you're more than welcome to. You can sleep in the bathtub like i did the weekend i met Myclone :tup:

As for the donations...since they're still rolling in i'm going to just take a printout of everything that has made it to the paypal account so far ($3671.14) to show that we as a group will be making a very sizeable contribution to her and her family. Since people are auctioning off parts or moving $ around to be able to make a donation, i don't want to just cut off the donations...and i would like to just give 1 total check for the balance. I will get some flowers for the funeral from SyTy.net also. I'll try to get a picture of the flowers so you guys can all see what you've helped do.

I'm wondering if we can actually get the 'myclone' to the funeral. But i have no idea if its running, or if its asking too much of Lisa. Hell, maybe she'll want to drive it herself to the funeral - that would be great to see.

Thats a good feeling that we can all help do this for her and her family and for Myclone ofcourse. I feel proud for donating. Wish i had had more to give. Now I just have to donate to SYTY.NET.

Mike, Thank you for setting up the fund for her, to have raised that much in that short of time says alot about the SyTy community! I mailed her a private note and a check donation today, and also asked my Southeast GM Turbo6 group to try and donate as well. I wish I could make the trip, but am tied up here at home tomorrow
