My White Marshmallow

Lutz! Where is Typhoon 2?
Howdy folks. Long time no talk to. Well I am here for some advice from you learned SY/TY Scholars. My white 93 Typhoon has been maintained and continues to run strong. I am starting to notice however, lots and lots of instability. Let me explain; I am now getting a ride that’s too soft, body roll, poor handling (not that it was great to start), lots of side to side shimmy especially if I hit a bump while cornering. I don’t drive it that often but its gotten to the point where it, well, kinda feels unsafe.

I have had the mechanic check and tighten stuff (control arm, tie rods, bushings, etc) but I am now looking for advice on specific parts and action to remedy the situation. I don’t mind a firmer ride if means I will get better handling performance or even get back the old feel. Any upgrade recommendations - Shocks, Struts, Springs, Coil-over kit, Sway Bar?

If yes, I would appreciate a list of specific parts (brand, part numbers, etc) and I will take it from there. Oh, a url pointing to a previous post of this subject will do as well. As always, thanks in advance...

Check the bolts on the front swaybar if they backed out or something. The front swaybar is jesus for the the Ty's handling. I put a Belltech Front and rear swaybar on one of my Ty's and only a suspension techniques rear on the other. I would stay away from BOTH. The stock bars are good enough. If you have to have a rear sway then go for the Sus. Techniques I haven't had any problems with it. The Belltech pops and clicks if I don't tighten it every so often, waste of time and money. So check to see if your front sway is OK if it is then go for new shocks. MonoMax are great for handling.

I have the same problem with my Ty , the only thing that helped ( a little ) was adjusting the steering box ( sounds weird but it helped, check to see if you have play in the steering wheel), still a lots of marshmellow roll.

I have belltechs front and rear.... no problems in the 1000 miles I've had them... truck hardly rolls at all compared to stock. Coilovers help a ton too. and +1 on the monomaxs, running those out back with flexaforms
One other thing... are your torsion bar mounts still intact? They screw up the ride pretty nicely when they go
