Well not the whole Ty, just most of it. the fire started under the hood and then went under the truck, some of the dash(well under it) and most of the front and side clading :rant: :rant:
i will post pic's soon.

How bad is progressive going to give it to me? had full coverage with a $250 deduc

Dont know how it started but the think it was the tranny?

Hope your paperwork states it's a Typhoon, and make sure the people you talk to understand exactly what kind of truck it is when they talk money. Direct them to a few things on this board for reference on how rare they are.

i thought you sold it awhile back? ::shrug::

are you planing to keep the truck, or at your going to let insurance total it?

start getting on autotrader and pricing out trucks with similar mileage to yours so you can show progressive what the sales values are going for at this very moment. It will help tremendously instead of them just pulling a number off KBB.

. That is exactly why I keep a fire extinguisher in my truck at all times. I have seen the aftermath of several trucks that have went up in smoke over the years...

yes the truck was in the middle of a sale and i was holding a deposit, i contacted the buyer and let him know that i will be refunding him the deposit asap

Dude that friggin blows. Let me know if the drive train comes up for sale for any reason. If that happened to me, I would be so damn mad and would feel like my life was over. I doubt it was your trans. Mine leaked for about a year, shot trans fluid all over the DP all time and never had a fire. Funny thing about this is that I developed a fuel leak over the last fuel days and kept picturing my truck catching a blaze and kept thinking of how I would put it out since I dont have an extinguisher. Time to get one I guess.

Well, it was almost my Ty, but now I guess not. I have to say that ABOSS is a stand up guy and let me know right away. I am sorry to see this happen to one of these trucks. In a cruel twist of fate, I was extended another year by the company I work for in Korea, so I wasn't in a good position to keep the truck, but I didn't want to see this happen. This is the second time I tried ot get a Ty. Man this is crappy all the way around. I hope third time around is the charm. If not I am going to grab a Trail Blazer SS and call it a day.

Shitty. You should get a decent amount from the insurance company. Probably more than you almost sold it for.

Its a goner, you will need to show the insurance the paper work stating that it was sold and they will give you that ammount, BUT DO NOT TELL THEM THAT UNTIL THEY MAKE A OFFER, they might offer more

I will say "I hope you have a better expierence than I did when my cycle was stolen. There policy for theft; "if not recovered in 30 days, a check will be cut for the determined value". I bought a new 97 GSXR-600. I put down 1K and made 26 payments of 207 on a 3 year loan with a good APR. So, I spent 5382 + 1000 down = 6382 on an 7999 bike. They lied about sending a check to my loan co. for months. 2 months after it was stolen I stopped paying as the check "had" been cut. Then paid the balance of the bike off 6 months after it was stolen and I never got the $10. that was left after payoff. 4 months of non-payment on my credit report. The bank added a note to the CR on my behalf for the mess caused by Progressive.

GOOD LUCK - I hope you had a stated value with them.
