my ty has to turn over quite a bit before it starts .it was starting up just fine two days ago and yesterday i drove it around for about an hour or so and i came home and parked it for about an hour and came out side and tried to start it and nothing so i opened hood and checked fuel rail valve and no pressure so i check fuses , ok ,orange cable where baterry supposed to be plugged in ok , so i think fuel pump is dead so i leave it alone for a while and come back to it and tried to start it and it fired right up. so does this mean my fp is on the way out . fuel filter is 5 days old but truck did sit for 3 years w/o being started .also what pump do ty,s use do tyey use a walbro 255 liter 340 or some thing diffrent and what,s a good fuel press to run at with it being stock w/o catalist. any info would be appreciated thank you javier.

Re: my ty hesitates to start

If your not getting any fuel pressure then IMO it could be one of two things. 1. The FP could be going out but I've seen more just plain go out. 2. The FP relay could have bad contacts. Next time it does this open the hood and "thump" the FP relay and see if that works. I've seen alot of relays act that way. Especially if they have been sitting a long time.
A Walbro 255 will probably be plenty depending on your mods. And as far as FP if you are pretty much stock you should be in the 42+/- psi range. Also, sounds like your not running a cat, just some advice on that one. If your turbo is stock and the wastegate hasn't been modded watch out for boost spikes. Without the cat, stock turbos tend to do that. HTH's

Start with the cheep stuff first.

Check your fuel filter first. It is cheap. Then check your fuel pressure regulator.

It also may be a sticking injector or 2 that drains or floods your engine. This will reduce your fuel pressure.
