Re: My TT 408" project...

Any updates Bruce?

Both the sy & ty have been sent out for completion. The sy is at a well repped performance shop getting everything double checked & tuned. Im in a rental home right now since I sold my house and lost the shop with it. So the trucks needed somewhere to go until the new home is completed expected on xmas. The ty is getting the BS3 installed by Erik in Houston. Both trucks should be running before xmas in time for the new year. Im more excited about the ty running 10's then the sy for some odd reason...mainly because I dont trust the sy with all the changes made at one time. It will take alot of driving before I feel comfortable getting heavy into it...its gunna be a great xmas this year!:D

What a build this has been so far!!! Did you have this planned out when you put the wrench on the first bolt or were you not sure what you were going from one step to the next? Has there been things you wanted to do but didn't? Was there anything you did then realized you didn't need to do?

The plan was to stay light, have plenty of power available and have traction. I would of have liked to go with an aluminum race block and a holley management system but was not in the budget...maybe down the road if needed.

Bump bump. Progress?

Hey Cruz I have chewed off all of my finger nails waiting since July 2012

I was told it has about 8 more hours on it before we can fire up the motor.

I'm about ready to give up on this unicorn truck project and join the unfinished LS syty project club.
Corvette sting rays are starting to look very sexy to me right about now.

Stay focused! You've got the coolest truck I've ever seen. Anyone can buy a stingray!

Re: My TT 408" project...

Just a little update...The engine had to be pulled out today. Apparently the engine was rotated while on the engine stand causing the center T-bar lifters to slide out just enough to lock themselves tight. The cam bearings and rings are going to be replaced per recommendation of new engine builder. The previous builder had a history of walking cam bearings. Happened to my TBSS. The ring gap was at .031..036.
Should hear engine run soon.

Good luck man! We have been pushing Steve's single turbo AWD tbss the past few weeks. At 5,100+#, went 10.27 at 134. That was with full interior, ac, stereo system, and rolling on 22" Hankook Venus street tires.

Re: My TT 408" project...

Engine was fired up today for a few short seconds...had an oil leak issue from the oil distribution block. Should be fixed tonight. I will have a video of it running tomorrow evening. What a great father's days gift to myself.

Re: My TT 408" project...

Great job - I know how much these projects can wear on you but it's all worth it when you hear it run for the first time.
