My truck feels soo slow!

Re: My truck feels soo slow!

That thing should be a raped ape with all those mods. What do you consider slow? 13's in the 1/4? 12's in the quarter? Did you get your ecm calibrated for #50 injectors? Why are you so mad at the owner? You were not forced to buy it. Was he dishonest? My syclone really sucked when I first got it. Just take your time and get things right and it will all come together. I would say your vehicle has 11's in it with a good tune.

never been to the track and i don't think it's been tuned. it is chipped for the 50#'ers and vortec heads.
i wasn't forced to buy it, this i know nor am i stating. i still would have bought the ty from this guy in the condition it was in, just wish that he was up front about everything. i mean, i was 1000 miles from home and by myself. i would of been more at ease if i he had disclosed full info. about the ty. it's all good, though. these trucks are a love/hate relationship. it could be worse. i could have my ty sit on jack stands for most of it's life. no offense to members here.

You sooooooooooooooo just jinxed yourself

i was hesitant to say that, but i figured i may be over that hump already. the @$$hole who sold me my first ty failed to mention that he took it off-roading in it before i bought it. when i had it up on my lift i noticed all these dry twigs and weeds stuck in the chassis. newly rebuilt trani. my @$$! i don't know, maybe it was and he just went and phuct it up before i went to go pick it up :dunno: anyways, after i got home i was able to drive around home town for 6 days and then the trani. goes out. only 1st and reverse were left. so it sat at my shop for about three months before i got it fixed. i understand that it can go right back and sit for another three months or longer. this i know. but i figure that if i know it can happen and i never say anything about it then it just might happen. or i can talk about it and HOPE that it never happens again. wishful thinking.

I talked with Bill Schams that has the Dale Earnhart typhoon and he said his tranny had to get rebuilt twice. He said the first time he launched it on the new tranny it blew up again. I guess they got it right on the second try. Hes still going strong. I still cant get over how great his launches look.

Re: My truck feels soo slow!

i8av8 you really need to get datamaster,if you look hard enough you can get it very very cheap get my drift? And even these trucks in stock form are a pita to get right, make sure you have good wires not junk autozone ones etc,new fuel filter, check timing check for no air in the ic and that pump is working,160 stat etc etc

Best thing to do is see what is going on with your. Get a Datamaster and see if you have Knock, Intake temp, trouble code, and Boost levels. That will give you a starting point. Just my :2cents:

and start saving for a 4L80E etc. The heartache and pain with a 700R4 just doesn't seem worth it. That is the ONE thing on this site that I think everyone agrees with. Shame it is so pricey.

On another note, nice one for sticking with it despite the previous owner. You'll have an awesome truck in the end :)

Re: My truck feels soo slow!

i enjoy the occasional sprint from here to there, but i don't beat my ty. MY newly rebuilt 700 is quite mean to say the least. can spin all four when i try. i know i shouldn't....but. i trust the guy that built it. i think a fey guys on this site would agree with the werk that this guy did as they have heard of him down here in my home town.

that datamaster is the way to go, i know, i just don't think it is for me though. i am not computer literate and feel more comfortable paying someone to do. with me right there learning about.

i have a ATR knock/air fuel ratio gauge with the two toggle switches to turn on and off. it's rectangular shaped. know it? i do get knock at the turn of the ignition and near wot. always at the turn of the ignition and sometimes at wot. i was going to try that knock sensor relocation to the front of the intake to see if it is false knock.:dunno:
i've got no codes and the ty runs cool. pretty decent wires (accel extreme 9000 high temp ferro spiral-core with heat sleeves for the ATR header heat) and msd pro billet dizzy. this thing should scream, but with out datamaster and a tune the ty is just another box. the best thing to do is get someone to run datamaster and tune it for me for the right price.

Cant be that slow if you can spin all 4. You dont have to pay me to run datamaster on your truck. All you have to do is drive to MN.

DUDE!, don't tempt me. playing with my ty is like playing with my emotions. i'm in the neighboring state to your right, so it's possible.
