Re: My little argument

I just like the metaphors that one guy uses to compare the nsx to the sytys
"fat american brick beating a lingerie model in a pie eating contest"
Made me laugh so damn much!!

Re: My little argument

When conversation hits ad hominem and/or stereotypes (US domestic = hillbilly, Honda/Acura = ricer, Supra = dyno queen, exotics = clueless spoiled brats or senior citizens who bought an ornament... you know the drill), it's better to bail out and leave the participants content with their prejudice.

I've owned lots of different cars over the years, anything from limited edition muscle car (and truck :D) classics of the past to some 200mph+(++) japanese and european offerings. Some stock, some modified, some scary fast. I like many kinds of cars and truly appreciate them, and I couldn't care less about what kind of a perceived image some people have of their owners. That seems to tick some people off big time and lately I've not even tried to educate them by explaining the reasons behind my point of view.

Enjoying the variety of fast vehicles without staring at what kind of a badge is glued to the trunk lid is IMO what it's all about.

Re: My little argument

Ehhh really who cares!!! Let the kids talk all the shit they want! Personally when they start running there mouths, i let my typhoon do all the talking. Mostly because when it kicks there crx or civic or other jap crap POS, they instantly go from "your jimmys gonna get smoked" to "man that thing is fast!! What do you got done to it". Then they do what every other ricer does they jump on the net right when they get home and either jizz in there pant about a turbo kit that there mom wont buy for emm, or they want to sell or trade there POS for a faster car instead of workin with what they have already

Re: My little argument

Vegas is full of hondas, just last sunday I went to a "meet" and as soon as I pulled in the parking lot some guy askd me "is that a v8 supercharged?" About 30-40 cars showd up and 99% wer hondas, some guys are cool to talk to, but most of them had that "I love JDM" sticker followed by 20 more of different brands and that hellaflush wheel offset.
Fastest thing there was an LS1 240 and im sure the Ty was second in line.
Hondas are cool but get kinda annoying.
Some guy has in his signature...."having a 12 second honda is like coming out of the closet for the first time-at first all of ur friends are impressed but at the end of the day you are still gay"

Re: My little argument

History has been kind to the NSX. When it was released, it was much the slowest in the exotic category. Honda never bothered trying to keep it competitive. Even the Japaneese sports cars (rx7, 300zx, Supra) release at the time were faster than the NSX which cost almost twice as much. Honda missed it on the NSX It's know for being reliabke, good handling, and high revving. Honda was much
more successful with that formula with the s2000 at lower price point. While the styling is attractive even today, it's conservative for an exotic.

I personally don't think a car that was not even a success in its class should be the top rated V6.
