I just saw this thread for the first time, and read it all. Good job on putting it together so fast! Don't let the jerks with nothing good to say get to you. I can't wait to see some track footage.

You might consider making your own custom set of wires. It is very easy to do.

Also, you might find a good set of sleeves helpful: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...0612&N=700+400384+4294845355+115&autoview=sku

Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!

Hey Eviltwin I would like to congratulate you on your build. It is an amazing build and now that I have damaged my second motor and I never even made it to the track you have inspired me to do the same. I was wondering if you could help me through this build. To start I would like a list of the parts that I am going to need to start collecting. I have a lot of parts to sell first. I am picking up a 2004 Lq4 with 90k miles, CKperformance 4L80e, and Yank 3600. I am picking up the complete pullout for $1150 next week and I want to start collecting parts now to build this winter. I will be video taping the whole build for everyone to have for future use.

What were some of the more difficult parts of the build?

I have a great fabricator/mechanic that will be helping me with the build but I just did my first motor swap about 2 months ago so this is all new me, but I am sure that I can accomplish it.

Thanks for any help that you can provide and once again TWO THUMBS UP on an amazing job putting this together.

Thanks, Nick

Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!

Just curious about the specs on your converter.
Lock-up? Single/multiple disc,,etc. Cost?

Thanks

from there site, 258mm, Posi Lock-Up Clutch w/Kevlar Linings, 6 bolt mounting lugs , lightweight billet cover, 3400 stall, 2.30 STR. Single disc i believe. Cost was $850 shipped to my door. had it 8 days after ordering it

was it easy to pull that pan with the front diff out?

very easy. there is plenty of room. i could change the rod bolts if i wanted to.

Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!

well i drove over and got it weighed today. with 1/2 tank of gas and me in it, it was exactly 3700#. so the whole swap added 80lbs.

im going to get an electronic boost controller and get the tune finished this week or the beginning of next week

oh ya, traction is now a major problem
