If you want the same one that ATR used with their systems when they where still in business, get a Dyno Max. You can read about it in this link to it here. I recently put my full exhaust system back on my truck. With the electric dump closed, the truck is so quiet that you can barely hear the big shaft turbo even when I'm on it.

Strait pipe it. As long as you get the exhaust out the back of the truck its not that loud. No cops have ever said anything to me. I raced a RAM STR-10 with mufflers and it was way louder than the sy. I could not even hear my engine over his until I pulled 5 car lengths on him.

A+ video, that is exactly what mine sounded like when I ran open downpipe on my stock turbo. :tup: Youtube kicks ass. :tup:

IMO you should run a Borla XR-1... I ran a 3" on mine an loved it. Here's a link to my truck (well when it was running).. I know in this vid it doesn't have a turbo, and that changes the sound but it's an example. Enjoy

When my truck was running I had 3" DP, cat, no muffler, exiting out the side ahead of the rear tire. I liked it, will prolly keep it. Just like Rookie's vid. On a long trip, say 2 hrs, it kinda gets to be a bit obnoxious though.

Yeah it can sound like a garbage truck... real rough & raw sounding. IMO a real obvious "cut off exhaust sound" and nobody will mistake it for the sound of a healthy V8 with long tube headers or anything like that..

What did you run w/an open down pipe?
Did it change anything? ET,,, MPH?

Best ET with open downpipe and stock turbo was 12.361 @ 108.60.
When I went 12.26 @ 108.66 I had a 2.5" test pipe connected to full 3" ATR exhaust w/Pitbull muffler. (These were months apart, not back to back comparisons).

The open downpipe felt a little different, I cant remember for sure but I'd say maybe 1 tenth 1 mph? With subtle gains like that it's hard to judge since turbo engines aren't that consistent.

Don (raist103) I believe picked up 37rwhp on the dyno with his built black ty if I remember right..

I run the stainless round 3" UltraFlow muffler from Dynomax on my sy when the dumps closed. Great muffler
