MSD options

got the blaster coil, new plugs. cap. rotor etc. Being a muscle car guy, i wanted to add the new MSD 6AL2...basically the same as the old 6A or 6AL...my question is this:

should i use that with the stock NGK UR5 plugs?...and if so, what gap should i use?...i know MSD tells you to increase the gap, but was just wondering what everyone else thought.

engine is all stock for the most part ( egr delete, intercooler pipe and a/c delete so far)

any input would be appreciated.

Re: MSD options

I have MSD 6al, blaster coil, and the stock plugs are gapped at .028 The truck runs great and in the summer I run meth injection. Never heard of opening the gap up when using MSD 6al, but I have heard it helps to gap lower when running methanol injection. Plugs are cheap and easy to install so get a few sets and see what your truck runs best.

Re: MSD options

I have the been using the NGK UR6IX part #7348 With the MSD stuff, I set my gap at .028 as well. These plugs have been in the truck for 3 years now and still running great. The truck just pass the Calif smog test on 02/18/08.
